Shaq: Multiple NBA teams for sale, Las Vegas a possible landing spot

I think they should just expand and add teams in Seattle and Vegas. Go back to 4 divisions. Only half of league makes playoffs.

That would lead to an imbalance between the west and Eastern conferences. 17 in the West and 15 in the East. A team like the Pelicans would need to be moved to the Eastern conference to balance things out

Yep. I think they should move Minnesota to East.

Pacific Division
Blazers
Lakers
Clippers
Warriors
Sonics
Suns
Las Vegas
Kings

Southwest Division
Spurs
Mavericks
Rockets
Nuggets
Pelicans
Grizzlies
Thunder
Jazz

Central Division
Bulls
Cavs
Pistons
Pacers
Timberwolves
Bucks
Raptors
Wizards

Atlantic Division
Celtics
Knicks
Nets
Sixers
Magic
Heat
Hornets
Hawks

5 Games vs each team in your division, 3 vs the rest of teams in your conference. 1 or 2 games vs the other conference. Makes divisions matter again. Each Division winner gets a Top 2 seed like in the old days. MUCH less travel for Blazers. Also- no tied season series in your conference.

Good idea. Maybe even have playoffs of top 4 in each division. Then conference finals are where divisions first meet. I'd move Memphis to the east instead of Minnesota. Tennessee borders states on the Atlantic Ocean.

That is a pretty vague story. "Minority Stake" doesn't move a team and really doesn't count as "For Sale". There must be two different teams altogether. It would not be a stretch at all to figure Portland has been considered "For Sale" for quite some time. But Portland ain't going to Vegas. That is if Shaq is even correct in his "Heard it through the grapevine" comment at all.

I think you meant 16 in the west and 15 in the east?

Minneapolis and Milwaukee are on the same block so yeah they wolves should be in the east.

No issue with that considering....

But New Orleans is further East. It would make more sense

New Orleans is further east, but also has other "western" teams relatively close to it (Houston, Dallas, OKC). Minneapolis doesn't have any west teams nearby, and is relatively close to several East cities (Milwaukee, Chicago, etc.)

If the NBA doesn't return to Seattle first, and goes to Vegas instead, that would suck.

It'd also be 3 out of the 4 major league teams in Vegas whereas Portland has 1.
0, if the Blazers move to Vegas.

im not gonna click on the article.

If there is any mention of anyone considering moving the Blazers...

This world is going to complete shit...

There is no mention of the Blazers. Whenever anyone here hears about NBA teams getting sold, it just seems to automatically go there.

Make it 5 in division, and 2 vs each of the other 24 teams--83 games total. And each in-division series has one neutral-site game--meaning a total of 112 neutral-site games played each NBA season. Could finally serve some fans outside of the traditional markets.

Like in the Wuhan market

Phew. saw it on FB the other day too and refused to click on it, but many comments centered about Blazers being one of the teams mentioned potentially up for sale.

Nope, not mentioned. The Spurs and Nets I think were the only two mentioned and both were only selling minority shares in ownership I believe too. The only talk of moving seemed to be from the writer which felt like a lot of assumption.
