How many times a week do you get package deliveries?
For us, Covid changed a lot of habits
we started shopping a lot more online and now, I'd say we get 2 or 3 deliveries a week. It's pretty tempting to go that route when you get free deliveries
we shop Amazon Prime a lot; Costco & Walgren's have free deliveries if you hit the $35 dollar mark. Home Depot and Walmart are the same IIRC. Lowe's too. Newegg has a large selection of tech with free delivery. We use them all.
Now, I know there's the component of making the big online store bigger and harming the local brick and mortar stores. That bothers me a little. At the same time, we live a little ways out in the country so, just a trip to the hardware store could be a 15-20 mile round trip. I was a construction contractor for 40 years; so I know, for a fact, that when you add up everything, there's a actual cost of approximately 35-40 cents a mile minimum for cars and trucks. So, if one of us goes to the hardware store for $30 in items, it really costs $35-$38. Free delivery looks pretty good compared to that, and I'm sorry, but the items almost always cost less online
