He has a lot of respect from various coaches and peers around the league for sure as a top flight defender and heady player. He's has loads of playoff experience, he's not too old, and he's a good shooter (albeit somewhat streaky). Detroit and Phoenix are in discussions currently (pertaining Amare and Sheed) and the pieces just seem to fit right, but we'd have to give up some young talent.

How would you guys feel about a deal like this?

POR out: Raef/Bayless
POR in: Prince

Det out: Prince/Wallace
Det in: Amare/Raef

They kind of blow it up, but it's low risk as it doesn't cost them anything and they're still left with Stuckey and Hamilton (and a rental of Iverson) and they save some money.

PHX in: Wallace/Bayless
PHX out: Amare

They don't save a whole lot (but after this year they do) but they do get experience, improve their D, and get some young local talent to boot. Perhaps detroit could throw in a young big too (Maxiell?)

We'd look like this:
Blake/Sergio
Roy/Fernandez
Prince/Batum (Webster if he gets healthy)
Aldridge/Outlaw
Oden/Pryzbilla

I think that team would have a real good shot of going deep into the playoffs. I like our odds against any west team except for the lakers in fact!

I hate to lose Bayless for Prince, but it's not like Phoenix would just want Wallace/Sergio.

Detroit isn't trading Prince. He's literally their only small forward.
