In '06-'07, the Lakers went 42-40; in '07-'08, we went 41-41
In '07-'08, the Lakers were 29-16 after 45 games; in '08-'09, we are 28-17.
We have a heady, steady PG, a young pac-10 combo guard waiting in the wings, an all-star 2, a flashy euro swingman, questions at the 3, an athletic talented 4, a LARGE young developing center, and another center with a large expiring contract; all were true of the Lakers last year.
The Lakers traded for Gasol in early February, and he started their 47th game of the year, on the road against New Jersey. If we make a trade within the next couple days, the new player could start our 47th game--on the road against New Orleans. IF that were to happen, I'd say the coincidences would have officially reached the eerie stage.
