It's becoming increasingly apparent to me that Houston, Denver, Blazers, Minny, Utah, and L*kers will be in a fight to secure the last three playoff spots.

This is gonna be funz down the stretch. :)

Even though they are a disaster now, Im sure the Lakers can clean it up enough to at least make playoffs. Timberpups I don't think will make it. Houston has a decent shot as do the Nuggets. To me, if the Lakers do get one it comes down between the Nuggets, Houston, and us to fight for the last two spots. Not sure if our starters can maintain this play they will get burned out.

I'm not sold on the invincibility of the W's. Sure, they have a good shot to make it, but they're (iirc) only 3 games up on us right now. They're 3-5 in the division, 9-9 in conference and don't have a pedigree of winning recently like MEM, SAS and OKC.

I'd say the Top 3 are locks, MEM is about as close as you can be, and there's 7 to make 4.

I truly think the L*kers are toast. They're old, seemingly incongruent,...and now they're hurt.

5 to make 3

I like turtles.

Turtles are fine.

Generally speaking, they only pop their heads out when there's no imminent danger. Other than that, they hide under those crusty shells..

;)

I also don't see the Lakers turning it around. They have two starters out indefinitely. They are starting to develop a losing mentality.

I also see GSW falling - they have not been good against the West, but their hot start probably keeps them in the playoffs (unless they really collapse or their injury-plagued players go down again).

Houston seems in. Denver good chance. Minny out, without Love & Rubio they are barely mediocre.

I now think Denver will pull away from the Blazers and that Minny and the L*kers will essentially stay where they're at.

We'll be talking 3 to make 2 between the Blazers, Rockets, and Jazz.

Points differential is usually a pretty decent indicator for predicting final records, and give that the Blazers have the worst of the teams jockeying for position, I'm pretty confident that we'll be on the outside looking in.

man, 13th or 14th would suck. ;( No playoffs and most likely no pick.

Huh. Worse than the Timberpups and L*kers?

Timberpups is a tough call, because they are so banged up, but yeah, I think the Lakers will finish with a better record than us by the end of the season ... and I'm not necessarily saying they'll make the playoffs either.

Edit:
and by "worse" of course I mean that we currently have the worst points differential currently of those teams with legitimate playoff aspirations in the West, that doesn't mean the Blazers will finish with the worst record.

Smoke, mirrors.....and all that Jazz.

I hate Utah right behind the L*kers. They'd better not pass us!! :MARIS61:
