The Sioux Falls Skyforce defeated the Tulsa 66ers 97-92 Tuesday night. Demetris Nichols scored 12 of his game-high 34 points in the fourth quarter to help Sioux Falls take over the eighth and final spot in the playoff race.

Sioux Falls (25-23) jumped out to a quick 11-4 lead but Tulsa went on a 12-4 spurt to take a 16-15 lead. Sioux Falls led 25-22 after the first quarter and 49-47 at halftime.

Seth Tarver hit a 16-foot jump shot to give Sioux Falls a 60-53 lead with 6:56 to go in the third quarter but Tulsa (26-22) fought back and only trailed by one point (70-69) heading into the final quarter. Nichols hit a tough 13-foot fadeaway with 1:10 to go to push the lead to seven points (94-87) but Rasual Butler converted back-to-back buckets to cut the lead to two points (94-92). After Mychel Thompson made 1-of-2 free throws, Butler missed a contested 3-pointer and Andre Barrett made two free throws to seal the victory.

Nichols scored a game-high 34 points on 12-of-19 field goals (4-of-7 3-pointers). Miami HEAT assignee Jarvis Varnado posted 26 points, nine rebounds and three blocks while James Mays recorded a double-double with 14 points and 17 rebounds.

Butler scored a team-high 32 points while Ron Anderson posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Dominique Sutton contributed eight points and 10 rebounds in a losing effort.

Tulsa visits Iowa Thursday night at 7 p.m. CT. Sioux Falls hosts Fort Wayne Friday night at 7 p.m. CT.
