You've lost it. Dame's in a slump, so now he's worth less than CJ?!? Come on man! Hold it together, Dame will see himself out of this. Talk about a fair weather fan.I’ll throw in RoCo.
Let’s roll with Simons/CJ/Powell/Simmons/Nurk
This post should be put on a billboard in downtown Portland and the posters name and address should be added so everyone knows exactly who posted this!I’ll throw in RoCo.

Think of Eric as the voice of your id. He says the wild thoughts that you try to repress. Everybody has them, he's just more honest about it. He's like a Lucky Strike: no filter. This post should be put on a billboard in downtown Portland and the posters name and address should be added so everyone knows exactly who posted this!
Is there any poster on this board that is quite this pathetic with the exception of Aldo?
Billups might have to go back to just letting him control the ball.

Sure they do. They chanted for him while Dame was shooting free throws.
He's in a slump, trying to figure out playing without the ball in his hands. Billups might have to go back to just letting him control the ball.
I've said for quite a while, Dame is better than CJ but CJ might be the easier player to build around. CJ can play the lead or secondary role, although to be fair, he plays like a ball-dominant lead in that secondary role. Dame's apparent inability to adjust is why we've been so predictable against trapping teams. He has very few weaknesses, but that one is a killer.
We'll see how long-term this adjustment period is for Dame. I hope I'm wrong and Dame's fit under Billups doesn't become a point of concern.
I think the fact that dame can now be easily guarded by the other teams SF, instead of the other teams PG, has as much to do with his struggles as anything.
With 3 short players starting, and a PF that is barely 6'7", they've given the opponents an advantage defensively.
He already has and it's not working.Of course they do. Who wouldn't?

So we just figure this is expected so you accept it? So it would be funny if it wasn't so consistent?Think of Eric as the voice of your id. He says the wild thoughts that you try to repress. Everybody has them, he's just more honest about it. He's like a Lucky Strike: no filter.

Dame needs better players next to him. Players who are harder to scheme against.I've said for quite a while, Dame is better than CJ but CJ might be the easier player to build around. You can't expect to beat teams with 3 or 4 all star level players with just Dame and CJ.
He wasn't bad in the Olympics until his injury. This year he still doesn't have better players than CJ. And nobody else is close. But he's running an offense that is trying to use those other players more. That's been the defense for Dame's struggles all along ... place the blame elsewhere. This year is exposing that excuse for what it is. B.S.
By your reasoning, he should have been spectacular in the Olympics...

All I claimed was that Dame is an All Star caliber player who needs another all star or two next to him of we want to compete.
If you don't think so that's fine.
Almost nobody has the same quality of offensive numbers after they've stopped being the focal point of the offense.I'm unclear when the injury occurred, but he started off quite slow, as I recall.
But he has the same players around him as last year when he was much more successful surrounded by that level of talent. Dame is very good at what he does, but it's a fairly rigid approach. Walk the ball up, mostly looking to run pick 'n rolls (not the most creative drive-and-dish passer), not much movement when the ball's out of his hands, etc. He has a rhythm to his game that isn't well suited to adapting to different circumstances, e.g., playoff traps. I believe that's what we're seeing this year with the new offense, and what we saw in the Olympics when he wasn't the focal point of the offense.
Agreed, but competing [for a championship] and being abysmal in the regular season are two very different things.

The problem is that the other players aren't playing much better even though they are getting more touches. But that's because they aren't good enough.
Nice theory if it were true... Look up the season vs career stats for CJ, Nurk, Powell, RoCo, Ant, and Nas ... all the returning players. They're all at or above career levels in most categories, with the exception of RoCo. Although, even he's not that far off, 34.4% vs 40.5% FG and 34.5% vs 35.8% 3PT, with the real issue being that he's been vastly overrated as a shooter. (His PPG is way down, but that's not as much due to shooting woes as the general narrative would have you believe.)
Oh, for sure. He's adjusting to a new style as well. But he also can't create as much if he's expected to pass the ball in a set offense.i don’t think it’s fair to blame his teammates in this one. He has one of his most talented group of players he’s ever had around him. He’s simply missing shots and not doing a good job creating space. I can’t remember him ever getting so many shots blocked. His game is just off, with time it will come back around.
