He is the poster child for the kind of player that has all the trust of the coaching staff because he executes all the coverages and knowing the right place to be most of the times. However, his stats are abysmal, particularly for how much he plays. He’s like the anti-Ayton, where he does the little things that don’t show up on the box score, but does literally nothing that shows up on the box score. At some point, you gotta produce….something. He probably should not play with a fully healthy roster.

I don't think he even does the little things. I think he's playing simply because he's what they have. Like I said somewhere else, I don't know what goes on at practice that they have him so far ahead of Rupert, because, based on summer league, Rupert looked considerably better. The only thing I can think is that Murray's a little bigger.

Like everyone else, Murray's game stands or falls on whether he can hit his threes. Right now he's not hitting enough. But he's certainly not a huge problem - you can think of him as like thickener in your soup. You're not going to taste it but it's not going to hurt the soup. Thing is, we traded away Jabari and Trendon, so he's one of the very few we have who you can stick on power forwards. The reason he plays ahead of Rupert is that Rupert is very definitely too small for that.

I love having Murray come off the bench...he's solid and doesn't need to score. He gets you the ball, defends without fouling,, rebounds, sets screens and is the least selfish player on the roster. Shots he doesn't take Shaedon or Scoot will eat up quickly. He's shooting with more confidence this year but he loves defense. You can see it. Lot of great players were never great 3 pt shooters especially at the PF or small ball 5. That's not a deal breaker. Murray is not eating a ton of cap space for what he brings to the table. Grant and Murray seemed to be targets for a couple of popular podcasters so I guess that's sort of jump started the vitriol but even they have started to recognize his improvement this season.

I am very happy for Kris! Works hard. I think he’s making the most of his chances to be honest. I didn’t realize how active of a defender he was!

He makes shit happen on the court; he obviously always had the physical tools, so it’s good to see him focusing on the skills that will keep him on the court in this system. Perfect attitude for rotation players on good teams.

I think Murray has really improved defensively, good hustle player and plays smart but still not a good shooter.

He is a very dependable defender. Improve a bit more on finishing at the rim perhaps? Forget the layups, dunk the fucker

He can be too unselfish at times. He must take open shots unless there is another open shooter and time on the clock. Last night he passed on one and it was a shot clock violation before the other guy could get it up. And is it unselfish or is he still not confident about his shot sometimes?
