.....which, apparently, precipitated their divorce filings? Dang.

http://www.everyjoe.com/2013/05/24/sports/amy-duncan-cheated-tim-duncan-details/

Earlier today, we learned Amy Duncan filed for divorce from San Antonio Spurs legend Tim Duncan. As the details of their failed relationship start to trickle into the public’s eye, the rumors are juicy. First, we have a developing report from Buck Harvey, a veteran writer for the San Antonio Express-News. According to Harvey, Tim first suspected something was up last fall and hired a private detective to track Amy. And though the divorce papers were filed by her back in March, she ended up moving out of the family home approximately 20 days ago.

Scandalous!

It doesn’t take a brilliant mind to read through the lines to see the insinuation that Amy Duncan cheated on her husband. I searched further on the internet and there are additional rumors that she had an affair with a fitness trainer. In fact, there are online allegations that she opened a new gym in San Antonio and hired the guy she was having affair with to run it!

Update: According to sources close to the situation, she has allegedly been cheating with her trainer for over two years. It’s expected that the Spurs star will file for primary custody of his two children..............

Now that the case is unraveling a bit, it appears the marriage's falling out may very well be attributed to this uncharacteristic act on Timmy D's part...

San Antonio Spurs star Tim Duncan has apologized for compromising pictures of himself that were recently posted online, becoming just the latest NBA player to be exposed on the Internet.

In a statement issued by the team today, Duncan said: "A year ago I made a mistake and take full responsibility for my actions. I have matured and learned from this episode."

According to sources close to the team, Duncan had sent a picture of his bare left arm, including a close up of the hand, to a female acquaintance. After an apparent falling out with Duncan in recent days, the woman sent the photo to several Internet gossip sites including TMZ.com and TheDirty.com. They refused her request for money — TMZ calling the pictures: "not remotely interesting" — and the woman eventually posted them on her Facebook page.

Duncan, the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA draft, is a four-time NBA champion and two-time league MVP. In addition to the statement, the former Wake Forest star has apologized to the Spurs, NBA fans, his family and his wife.

Duncan's wife said she forgives her husband, but admits that she was incredibly surprised by his actions.

"For him to send another woman a picture of his arm is way out of character of the Tim I know," said [his wife]. "The times we have had sex, he insists on wearing a robe. And that we be under the sheets with the lights off."

The couple plans to spend some time together after the season working on their relationship at a Sandals resort where Duncan has already booked a room without a view for a great rate.

Can't believe I actually fell for that one. I was telling someone earlier this afternoon about that, and surprisingly, they didn't call B.S. either. I guess it's just ridiculous enough to be believable, for an unusually reserved guy from a school like Wake Forest.

Feeling pretty stupid right now...

:)

Yeah, but the part about the divorce, him hiring the private dick, and her (apparently) having an affair with the personal trainer are all legit, though.

I'm confused right now.

Sent from my baller ass iPad FAMS!

Just run home and stay there. You don't need no camera.

From a 2003 SI article:

Duncan's wife, Amy, tells this nice little story. Tim had left Wake Forest after graduating in the spring of 1997, and she had no intention of being "that girl back home." She knew all about pro ballplayers and the women on their trail. Amy was going to become a doctor. She wasn't going to be pathetic. She figured she and Tim were through. But he wouldn't have it. For eight months, throughout his breakout rookie year, he called Amy four, five times a day—before practice, after practice, the moment he touched down in a new city—showing how much he needed her, sanding down her suspicion until, finally, the path between them was again as smooth as glass.

Now the subject is brought up to Duncan himself, and the atmosphere in the room changes. For the last few days he has chatted openly, even wittily, about everything from the effect of the Spurs' failed courtship of Kidd on Tony Parker ("His feelings got hurt by everybody, but you have to learn that it's a business") to Duncan's attitude heading into last spring's Western Conference semifinal against the Los Angeles Lakers ("Cool. They'd ended our season the last two years. We wanted to be the ones who sent them home. Let them have that feeling") to his famously vanilla quotes ("Wasn't I on si.com's all-boring team? I'm at the top of my game, baby!"). But now, on a close-to-the-bone subject like romance, Duncan shuts down. He smiles, he stares. He sits in a corner, leaning back in his chair. He doesn't say a word. His wife, sitting on the other side of the room, tries drawing him out.

"I was still in college, and we had those first couple of months when I was convinced you were going to go off and do bad things," Amy says. "Then all the uncertainties went away, and you did that for me, by calling and reassuring me that you weren't...you weren't out there doing bad things. You rekindled that belief." The words hang out there a good 10 seconds. Finally Tim nods. "Sure," he says.

Everyone sort of laughs, but it's clear that she has put him in an awkward spot. Amy goes quiet, and soon she decides to move. She takes her book and goes outside to the balcony. There's nothing wrong, exactly. Anybody who knows Tim will tell you that Amy has broadened him socially; anyone who has seen them work a charity event knows that she's even more committed than he is to making an impact; anyone who hears Tim talk about Amy knows that he trusts her completely. "It's not a typical NBA relationship," says Tim's agent, Lon Babby. "It's a real marriage, a real partnership. You have no doubt they're going to be together in 30 years."

We don't know how Tim Duncan is in real life, but he just seems like a great dude. Makes you think she is a giant bitch.

basically she coug'd out. went to bang a younger dude at the gym. pretty typical shit yo. i meet a lot of these chicks, they are married 10-12 years, bang out a couple of kids and are bored with marriage and want some strange young cawk no strings attached.

From that excerpt, I gather that she was unmotivated to stick with a millionaire with muscles and a 6-11 bed organ.

Plus, she brags about how he had to beg the Princess. No surprise that it didn't last. It was all about her.
