1. Roy's D- It's possibly worse than it was his rookie year; quite sad to see this pathetic effort from a guy who had aspirations about becoming an all defense player this season.

2. Aldridge's game - Sac the hell up, please. LaSoftie. ugh.

3. Nate's insistence on his rotations- is this guy fucking blind? he never coaches by feel. NEED MORE ODEN! Amateur.

4. Blake needs to fake an injury and pull himself out, because Nate never will. I blame most of our poor starts on his lack of talent.

5. RUN!!! This team failed to score 100pts against the two of the worst defenses in the NBA. They get ZERO easy baskets.

LaMarshmallow has been mediocre this season. He certainly hasn't played like a player who just signed a $65m extension.

Roy's defensive (lack of) intensity was acceptable when he was the one who had to carry us on offense his first three years - not so much any more.

Nate is playing Roy against SF's a lot this year. He doesn't have the weight or size to match up against players like Rudy Gay.

Is there any way we can undo those 2 monster extensions we gave out in the offseason?

I can't say I'm pleased with Roy's effort so far this season. He needs to take over games like he has in the past. If other guys are scoring, he is more than capable of being a defensive presence. LMA is and has been soft since he entered the league. Someone needs to say something to the big guy to get him going. He has as much or more potential than Roy and he isn't showing it. Roy had a nice stat line tonight but it really didn't seem like he was that into the game.

One could argue that rather than coasting, like they are now, Roy and Aldridge might have gone extra hard to put up numbers instead of focusing on team play. It's really hard for me to think of the two guys this way because they've been absolutely awesome for this team until now. I thought they'd be different from the other stars in the NBA, but it's sad to see that they aren't.

Way to make assumptions.

They look more like players who are starting to become unsure of their role on the team. With other offensive threats emerging, they are deferring more to their teammates. So much so, that when they need to start taking over, they simply can't because they've lost the mindset.

Well Brandon's always really coasted on D outside of crunch time, and in the past it was fine because he did expend a long of energy on offense. But now it is not acceptable any more, especially since it helps put our big time defenders in foul trouble. I try not to judge LaMarcus too much because I think he's poorly utilized.

+ a million.

KP just couldn't bear to part with any of his precious "potential" players with all that offensive talent, and if it weren't for some key injuries we'd probably see even more muddling of roles.

You don't think they're coasting? Especially on D?

Coasting would mean not caring at all, which I think is false. I really think they try, but they just aren't very good defenders. Well Roy anyways, but I expect more from Aldridge. Keep in mind though, defense isn't learned in just 3 seasons. It took James 6 years to learn how to play good proper defense. Same with Carmelo. Same with Kobe.

Those two are known for their unbelievably hard workouts during the summer to improve aspects of their game. That's not Roy.

I think it's time to change the starting PG. Blake has had 18 games as a starter, and he still isn't anything to write home about.

Hell, even with his career year last year, he's not that good.

Instead of fucking up the rotation, and always (and I mean ALWAYS) taking players out at certain times in the game, maybe Nate should get his melon out of his ass and coach by whats happening not what the hallucinations tell him to do.

Can anyone seriously tell me more than 2 of our offensive plays?

6 years? Even now James still isn't that great of a defender. But I agree, Roy just isn't a good defender.

consolidate shit and add some IQ (and maybe size)...

Blake/Outlaw for Diaw (they save money, maybe), we add some vet IQ, passing, and fire (by playing bayless some)

Miller/Bayless
Roy/Rudy
Webster/Diaw
Aldridge/Diaw
Oden/Pryzbilla

then tell roy to grow the hell up and learn to play with the rest, if he's worth 82 mill he can figure it out.

and aldrdige is a joke. zbo OWNED him tonight. and it wasnt close. gasol killed oden as well just like lopez.

AGREE 1000%.
(mathematically impossible, I know, but that's just how much I agree!)

I remeber a lot of lopez's points coming when Oden wasn't in the game. As for Gasol he put up better numbers then Oden but in no way do I think he outplayed him at all. If you want to go by stats he put up 6 more points and 5 more boards in 12 more minutes.

I would do that trade in a heartbeat. They wouldn't.

I have a conspiricy theory about Roy's defense.

Roy sees Greg evolving into a player that on most teams the offense would run through. Roy however likes to be the man, so he plays shitty perimeter defense in order to get Greg out of the game. Then when Joel comes in, he involves him a little more in the offense to show Nate that it's ok to play Greg limited minutes.

I actually went back and watched some games from this year, and I am not sure I am far off. I recomend that everyone watch for this tonight.

Ridiculous. I've been on Brandon's case this year, but c'mon . . . he's not Z-BO! You honestly think Roy is sabotaging Greg (knowing that makes it more likely we will lose) to be "the man"? Last night was the first time in 7 games Brandon got 25 pts or more. He had gone 4 straight under 20. He has no offensive rhythm right now, but he does lead the team in assists.

In fact go back and watch the NJ game. He had several dimes to Greg in the 4th quarter for dunks. Actually I remember one play where Brandon got in the lane and dished to Greg, who I think made the basket but traveled. Getting back on defense, the camera caught Brandon (who had made a fist) hit is own forehead 3 times . . . clearly frustrated. I saw him do the same thing on the last road trip - he threw a bounce pass into Greg, but Greg had all his weight on his defender and couldn't get to the pass - it went right out of bounce and Greg couldn't even get a hand on it. Brandon rolled his eyes.

I think he knows he's not himself right now, and I'm sure his first choice is to be playing like the B-Roy of last year. But, his 2nd choice is to have his teammates step up and carry the load. I'll say this, his body language is not good. His frustration with himself and his teammates is easy to see. I don't like that at all. But he's not sabotaging anyone, and if he were trying to "be the man" he'd be jacking up 20 shots a night.

That's a pretty good theory but I thought it was to sabotage Miller. Proof is in that Golden State game where Roy didn't play any defense and then Miller was kicked off the starting unit.

Roy is trying to sabotage pretty much everyone. Including himself, to judge from his numbers.

He's pure evil and must be stopped.

when Memphis went on the hugeeee run last night, it was Roy being consistently burnt by mayo everytime. It was horrible. An I feel like since getting te contract aldridge has just been fouling to take himself out of the game, because he has played maybe one possession of defense this entire year. Oden is our best player this year and we don't even give him the damn ball.

You see!

This is Minstrel talking. A guy who spends his lonely nights fondling Blazer bobble-heads with palsied, kool-aid stained fingers! Even HE see the truth!
