Loved this line:

"That's a tough team," Doc Rivers said Friday night. "They're just so physical -- they really should be in the East. They have no business being in the West."

Here's the gist:

If the Celtics think they've had it bad this season with injuries, one look at the opposing bench on Friday night would have alleviated those concerns in a hurry.

The Portland Trail Blazers, who took the Celtics to overtime on the road last night and fell short in the final minute, have had it worse. Riddled with injuries all season long, the Blazers have found ways to persevere when most teams would have surrendered. And for that, they should be admired -- even when they lose................

Funny, Kobe just said two days ago that Denver is the only team in the West that plays with the physicality of an Eastern team.

To be honest, I never thought of us as a "physical team" (even with Joel & Greg) Who was out there last night that plays physical? Andre Miller is - for sure. Bayless - I'll give you that. But Martell? Lamarcus? Juwan? Those guys are physical? Or how about Rudy? LOL

We did get 16 offensive rebounds last night, but that wasn't because we were outmuscling anybody. We were pretty scrappy and honestly the Celts just didn't box out very well - especially when Garnett & Perkins were out of the game.

In contrast to this article, did anyone see ESPN's SportCenter last night? What a crock, they shoed almost al about Garnet as if he was the catalyst for the Celtic's in the game. Showing several (read All) his highlights and showed only one Blazer highlight, Webs shot to tie the game in regulation. Nothing about players missing, etc. Terrible coverage. Just terrible. I never watch ESPN for this reason and see again why.

I agree but sometimes a lose is acceptable given certain circumstances. As long as the effort is there I will be behind this team 100%. These guys have heart.

A loss is a loss is a loss - no doubt. Last night left me bummed out b/c we had chances. And the plays at the end of regulation and overtime were just mental mistakes.

The pass to Lamarcus at the end of regulation was fantastic. With 1.1 seconds there is time to catch it, come down with it, & go right back up. Instead he tried to catch it and shoot it on his way down. I had a feeling when they missed that play we were doomed in OT (even with Pierce F/O) That play was understandable though with 1.1 seconds. However, the last play in OT where Rudy heaved that desperation shot with 3 seconds left . . . he had all day to square himself an take a good shot, he just didn't know it.

I understand that Lamarcus and Rudy aren't used to taking the last shot like that, but it's just a hard way to lose a game. They fought too hard to not give themselves a chance to win at the end. What really sucks about last night is the fatigue we will probably see tonight. It's so hard to lose a hard-fought overtime game on the first night of a back to back (especially with 8 players) I hate it. It's better to lose by 10 in regulation.

You know what else sucks? Overtime games. The Blazers are 1-7 in OT the last 2 seasons. Every time we go to OT is feels like an "L".
