I would love it if Nate would go big. I have been screaming for it for years. Sure it causes mismatches. But it causes mismatches both ways. Considering that Rudy does a much better job at guarding PG than SG, it makes sense in many ways. The problem is, will Nate let Rudy handle the rock part of the time, which is the same problem he has with Miller.

Time to start the Play Maker vs Point Guard debate again.

Rudy is a play maker and a better one than people give him credit for but he would suck as a point guard. Not fast enough and not a good enough ball handler.

One thing you must remember is that he is doing this on the second unit against other backups.

As long as he keeps hitting shots at the rate he's been this pre-season, I don't care who he does it against (starters, backups, backups of backups).

1 pre season game left and we wanna insert rudy or matthews in starting 5. lovely.

its just pre season though

He's doin it! That's all that matters! If Bayless averaged 45 points a game this year against only bench guys, do you think it wouldn't count?

Rudy is without a doubt our most complete guard by a mile, or as they say in Spain, by 1.609344 Kilometers.

This team would be much stronger and win more games with him starting and Roy coming off the bench where he could dominate the ball without hampering our flow so much.

Now he comes off the bench.................... this is FUCKING AMAZING!

I know for a fact that Brandon and LA do not check out forums like this, but I am going to print out the threads from these last couple games and show him! This shit is .............. ???????

You're on the right track with Rudy starting, but you're forgetting one important detail. In order for this offense to reach it's potential, not only does it need Rudy starting, it needs Sergio right there along with him.

In the event the Blazers can't convince Sergio to be their starter, then, and only then, should they go and trade for CP3.....but absolutely not before Sergio has turned them down 4-5 times.

I've never seen better evidence proving this statement, "There are three kinds of lies: Lies, damn lies and statistics"

All (funny) jokes aside, I think we should keep Roy in the starting unit and start Rudy as the other guard. I think that's also what Roy wants.

You think Roy wants Rudy in the starting lineup? What makes you think that?

Rudy, like Roy, like Matthews can handle the point in a very limited capacity. Coming out of a time out at the end of a game could work. For extended minutes when the other team has time to prepare for it..........I just can't see it. I have flashbacks to the game in Philly a couple years back.

But I would like to see Rudy try it with Roy a few times at the end of games. The other team would double Brandon and Rudy would be open. (or someone would be ) As a matter of fact, at the end of a game I wouldn't mind seeing Roy, Rudy, Batum, Matthews, and LMA on the floor. (On the Offensive end) Spread the floor, but it would be Roy and Matthews attacking the basket, not Rudy. But hey that still works.

Or worse yet, like when Cheeks tried to play Qyntel Woods at the point....

This game will be archived for only a day or two more, so watch it while you can if you can get ESPN3 (it helps to have a carrier like Comcast). The game was Oct. 18, between two of the best European teams. They have some former NBA players--Real Madrid (Sergio Rodriguez, Sergio Llull, Jorge Garbajosa) vs. Olympiacos (Radoslav Nesterovic). Our Sergio brought the ball downcourt for most of the game. He got layups in the first 8 minutes, then couldn't make shots early in the 4th, then made a long 2-pointer with about 2:30 left.

video of the whole game (watch while you can, could be gone in hours)

Haha Sergio is terrible.

If you don't want to watch the game, here are 2 minutes of highlights. Sergio is #13 in the black uniform, the guy bringing the ball up the court almost every time. The first 2 baskets are Sergio making layups. In the middle of the highlights, he gets his layup blocked and falls to the floor.

really ugly box score--the other one is more readable

I saw everything I needed to see.... Sergio was 3-14 from the field with only 1 assist for the game. Of course, I'm sure that's just Nate McMillan holding him back still, right?
