Some really dumb rules

Today the Yankees scored the first run due to a bases loaded BALK. which IMO is one of the dumbest rules in baseball that they should do away with. That's right up there with the FALSE START in football. I mean if you're dumb enough to jump off sides just because I flinched my shoulder well that's on you.

The other thing they should do away with his the HOLD in baseball. The other day I'm watching a game where a pitcher came in in the 7th inning with his team leading 7-4. He game up 4 hits & 2 runs but never surrendered the lead. He was credited with a hold. The pitcher in the 8th inning was also credited with a hold. Really dumb. Get rid of it.

Alright so maybe alter it a little bit. I mean that balk from what I saw he just took the ball out of his glove & then put it back in. And I've seen balks where the pitcher just twitched his shoulder. I agree with the having to step off the mound before you throw it to the bag but the little twitches are just ridiculous JMO.

...I know what you're saying, but those "twitches" can influence a base runner's ability to read a pitcher's move.

Andy Pettitte, Mark Burle, etc. Are guys that seems to have learned their way to walk the fine balk line. What's next, allowing bunt fouls with 2 strikes?
