We're a very good team right now but...

Oden isn't close to what he could be.

Batum isn't close to what he could be.

Our PG situation isn't solidified yet.

How good can we be if these guys even come close to their potential?

I'd say Paul Allen better open up his wallet.

That's what makes our success that much sweeter!

We haven't seen the best of Roy either. He is still growing into his own and he will one day win the MVP Award. I'd bet on it.

On the PG front, here's DraftExpress' scouting report on Petteri from last summer:

The young point guard came up big once again today. He made a number of incredibly difficult shots fading away off of one dribble from college three point range. He’s not an elite level athlete, but he plays the game at a consistently high pace offensively. He knows how to control tempo relatively well for a young guard and possesses above average court vision. The young guard's ability to run the point at his size and age is pretty impressive, but his defense still has a ways to go. Koponen's potential is incredibly intriguing, and the Blazers will have the opportunity to bring him over when Oden, Roy, Aldridge, and Bayless are hitting their stride.

On courtside they talk like Petteri is our future PG. We forget about some of the resources we have. It's amazing the talent we have acquired over all!

I'd still take that 1000 dollar bet.

I know he gets overlooked, but we're also missing Martell.

I love Roy, but I don't think he will ever win MVP. Finals MVP is a yes if we ever win the finals. Roy would have to be near scoring leader of the league and average like 6+ boards/assists to win the regular season MVP.

I think we're going to be damned good as our big three develop- but we should still be open for a chance to develop the team via trades.

Vet PG, Andre Miller ? Switch out AM for Sergio . Just think what Billups has done for Denver, I think adding a vet PG complete's the " cake " .

Centers * Oden * Pryz

Forwards * LMA * Webster * Batum * Outlaw

Guards * BRoy * A Miller * Rudy * Blake

That is a solid 10 man rotation. I still like Frye because he can play the 4-5. Get someone to play the 2-3 to fill out the roster and your set.

13, 14, 15 could be Petko, Freeland, or 1st and 2nd rnd picks from 09' draft.

re: A Miller, I think everyone has seen firsthand that this guy can still play. He wants to play on the West coast and would be a great chemistry guy. I think we could get him for the 6-8 M we have. PG is the hardest postion to fill and in the Western conference we have to have a solid PG. I would prefer to have a lockdown PG but I see nobody available.

The future looks bright

I like this championship ring better!

what source do you have that he wants to play on the west coast? i know he was raised in LA and played at Utah but is this just you speculating?

this team could be scary good if we keep the pieces together. i still think there is a trade to be made where we consolidate our players, if you remember the move that put us over the top in the late 80's was getting buck and i think he's the type of player we need right now.

it is also a little scary to think that our window will be open while lebron is in his prime, anyone having flashbacks to 92?

Watching League pass I have heard thier announcers talk about Andre wanting to come back to the west coast, therefore it may be hard for the Sixers to sign him.

I agree about adding Buck back in 89', but if Greg develops into what we think he has potential to be ( Rebounder, post defender) I'm not sure where you would play a physical PF that I guess you are suggesting.

I wouldn't mind a Brandon Bass type, but I'm not sure how well he would fit playing next to G.O/ Pryz. That is why I think we should keep Frye.

I think their upside is a unit like this:

C: Tim Duncan
PF: Chris Bosh
SF: Gerald Wallace
SG: Brandon Roy
PG: Tony Parker

Obviously, everyone's not going to reach their upside...but having an upside like that is amazing to me. They can miss that by a wide margin and still be a perennial championship contender.

You realize that Roy is already "near" a scoring leader at 7th in the league, right? He is also already at 5+ assists and 5rbs per game. This is his 3rd year in the league.

If the stats you posted are what you believe it would take for Roy to win the MVP, he doesn't have far to go.

Lebron doesn't have his "Scottie" though (yet?)

As for Andre Miller, it's all hearsay at this point but I've been on the Sixers forum at RealGM.com in the past and apparently there have been public comments either from Dre or his agent stating that he'd like to finish up his career back on the West Coast. Take that for what it's worth :dunno:
