Soriano deal official

And for those interested in Corey Black...

"Coming in at 5-foot-11 and 170-pounds, the 20-year-old Black has already had Tommy John Surgery, but can still manage to get his fastball up in the 94-96 mph range. He also has a changeup and a slider although both pitches will need work as he moves up to the next level.

Because of his size he may end up as a reliever, but he was a starter in college and where he ends up ultimately will depend on whether or not he can develop strong secondary pitches."

You can't really complain considering they haven't hit a right handed homer in over a month. Plus they are only paying $5 million next year for his services.

I see it as a good start. But this cannot be the only move and now that you have seen Soriano come over it would seem logical that the Yanks are buyers unless this turns out to be only a sacrificial lamb to the fans. Time will tell.

I don't know as pickings might be slim out there this year. Plus, barring setbacks they're counting on Jeter and Granderson being back in the lineup again very soon.

...Brian McCann and/or Michael Young would be the icing on the cake.

...note to Cashman, DON'T TOUCH THE BRAKE PEDAL !

Exactly, in the past we would set a target, I pray it is McCann, and we would get it. I just don't know if we match up. As many have speculated, Hughes in Atlanta may be to scary for the Braves, Hughes, Joba and a bag of balls or as in money ball pay for the soda in the clubhouse. We need McCann for just not this year but next.

... meant to ask you...what part of the Keys do you live in?

...ahh, been through there many times...spent a lot of time on Duval Street in Key West and lived in Boca Chica

...yup, I'm a Parrot Head too.

...went to Lauderdale a few times for spring training games while I lived in the Orlando area in my younger days.

Ok, on a slim chance that its a small world, so you grew up in and around Orlando, did you ever know the name Seagraves or Brownie Environmental? Bill was a great baseball player who played for UF and the Expos in minors?

...nah, doesn't ring a bell. I lived in Longwood...still have a house in Sanford.

Well that saves us both a lot of embarrassing stories, lol!
