Put them back on the front page with a note of how bad their pitching is and how many runs they give up. I'm keeping an eye on Toronto. Man can that team mash. The Yankees are the closest in runs scored right now and are still 50 behind the Jays.

Yep, but that's where the pitching comes into play for the duration of this season.

Obviously, if they DO get good enough team pitching, they could WIN this division.
But they could win this division with less "good" pitching than the rest. Scary.

To be continued......

Mash? Lol how soon we forget. Jays are on pace to score 863 for the season, that's lower what the yanks did between 2002 and 2007. But that's going to be a healthy number of runs in the juice free era.

1927 Murder's Row: 976 Runs

1961 M&M Yanks: 827 Runs scored

1931 Yanks: 1,067 Runs

1936 Yanks: 1,065 Runs scored

1998 Yanks, MLB Prime Juice era: 965 Runs Scored

Most Runs scored in ONE Game: 1922- Cubs 26, Phillies 23 or 49 runs.......

...so I assume John Henry is still in denial about his team?

...the '27, '31, & '36 Yanx were even more impressive considering they only played 154 games instead of 162 games.

...winning a division of mediocrity however, is not impressive.

Boston writers are like 10 year old girls with their team. But boy, I thought they were "poised to dominate" for sure after that fangirl, Gordon Edes, declared them as having arrived…and of course ESPN eats that up. Just no shame in The Nation.

1939 Yanks, one of the more overlooked GREAT teams of all time and definitely under the radar as compared to other great Yankee teams.

106 - 45, swept the WS.
967 runs scored with a better run differential than the '27 Yanks (by 34 runs)
+411

Mind boggling.

Good stuff Rob, To date the 1000 run mark has only been reached 7 times since 1900 & 4 of the times it was achieved by the Yankees, 1930 (1062), 1931 (1067), 1932 (1002) & 1936 (1067).

The last team to reach 1000 runs in a season was the 1999 Cleveland Indians with 1009.

The most runs by a team scored in the modern era occurred only a few years ago August 2007 when the Texas Rangers crushed the Baltimore Orioles 30 to 3 in the 1st game of a double header.

Cleveland handed the Yanks their worst shutout loss, 20-0, a couple few years ago and that 30-3 score is outright comical.

Another Red Sox loss to Baltimore. Now seven games out.

This crap organization will purposely tank their
season to get 'prime' 2016 draft picks. I want to
regurgitate.

I'm almost to the point, almost not quite, where I'm rooting for the Redsox to begin knocking off Balt and Toronto when they play them.

If Toronto straightens out their SP the rest of the way it's bad news, and Baltimore is beginning to slowly show signs of life. I think they're the best rounded team amoung the Yankee division rivals.

Careful, comments like that will earn you a trip to the 15 day DL (ban). Lol!

Saw ESPN Video f Farrell & Miley getting into it last night, guess Big Sloppi was not happy about being benched. Could we see chicken and beer in the club house who knows. The one thing ESPN pushes is that Boston has a ton of prospects they can push to strengthen the team. Why has that not happened. Toronto, yeah I'd be concerned, especially since the Yankees have a losing record against them. Lets see how the Yankees deal with Baltimore this weekend.
