A source close to Chris Paul tells Ken Berger of CBSSports.com that the point guard wants to be traded before the beginning of next season.
"He wants out," said the source. "He wants to play with another superstar. He wants to follow LeBron James' model of teaming up with other great players."
Paul wants to play for the Lakers, Magic or Knicks.
"He feels like they haven't put the right pieces together," said the source.
Reportedly members of Paul's camp have told people in the NBA that, "he's not going to start the season in New Orleans."
The Lakers don't seem to make a lot of sense for Paul. Phil Jackson usually doesn't have dynamic, pick-and-roll point guards in his triangle offense because their style doesn't fit it.
The Knicks, of course, provide a tantalizing option for Paul. Big market, with an offense run by Mike D'Antoni that fits his style to a T. Carmelo Anthony could join next season and they'd have their own Big Three along with Amare Stoudemire.
The Magic might give Paul the best chance to immediately win, as they made the Eastern Conference Finals last season, and the Finals the season before.
