Watching the world series got me to thinking that HD TV really added to watching football and baseball but not as much to basketball. Sure everything is clearer and wider but it just doesn't have the same WOW! factor.

Is it because field/stadium games have more cameras?

What does everyone else think?

I think you're right. With basketball the cameras could already be pretty close to the action. Baseball and football require wider, longer shots to get more of the playing area in, and at a low resolution that isn't nearly as impressive as in HD.

Of course, because Comcast Sports Northwest (or whatever it's called) broadcasts to Seattle in one of the shittiest qualities of SD I've ever seen, I would be DELIGHTED to get the Blazers in HD some day...

meh, it'll cost me an extra $10 a month. I pay enough as it is.

you are clearly racist

and basketball in hd is gross/ awesome, you can see all the sweat and bulges

it enhances hockey the most. Watching that on SD was the worst. Baseball is the least difference, IMO. Nothing actually happens in a baseball game so you don't need a clearer view.
