It was a competitive game Friday at the AT&T Center well into the third quarter.
And then Damian Lillard happened.
The rookie point guard scored or assisted on Portland’s final 14 points of the third, then went off for 14 points in the fourth to engineer one of the Spurs’ most lopsided defeat in recent seasons.
Lillard finished with 35 points and nine assists with zero turnovers, an overwhelming performance that even the injured Tony Parker would have been hard-pressed to match or contain.
