Back in '78 I purchased an MGB Roadster. Sharp looking car BRG with beige interior. That year was their first for electronic ignition and that was a problem. You'd be bopping down the road and the car would just shut down end resulting in leaving the road and having the car cool down before you could restart it. Sabathias game reminds me of that car, looks sharp, runs to a certain point then shuts off. We will note that he did have two nice starts against Boston & Tampa thinking maybe two out of three ain't bad. Poor offense last night, seeing Beltran fan against Tilt Cap reminded me of his strikeout against Waino in '06.
Great Analogy Yank, I too can relate to that one. C.C. simply shuts down and can't be jumped to start.
I too had a mega problem with a Datsun Electronic Ignition in a new 78 Model. The SOB, shut down on me on the I-5 leaving me to take the nearest off ramp into downtown Pacoima....the same year, it dumped me in downtown Watts....WTF-any where but those 2 places.
Once I got back to town, I about ran the damn truck through Datsun's showroom...well I wanted to, told the Service Mgr. if he didn't fix it on the 5th try I would, or drop it on Tokyo...I have never owned a Japanese car ever since. Never again. The cost of parts, dealer parts too, that can only be bought from the dealer, and back then only on weekdays, their parts stores were never open on Weekends.
Altho' my sisters and one brother, have owned Honda's, Toyota's, Mazda's, or top end Lexus, Infinit's and Accura's (Honda-Toyota-Nissan). They never kept them long enough to have to work on them. Yet, some did get close to 300 thousand miles out of them by only changing the oil, spark plugs, et al.
Yet, I wouldn't have a rice burner up my ass. Give me a McClaren, Buggatti, Pagani, or shit, while were at it, any other Super Car....just don't give me the bill....
Nope, I have driven Ford Trucks for 30 years now. I was told when I got down south, no one drives Fords down here. They all drive Chevy's. A year later, when Dodge came out with their new model designed (as we know them now), all those southern chevy boys, went right out and bought a Freaking Dodge. Dodge, another POS, I once owned a Ram Van, a 96 Model, brand new, and the auto tranny was gone by 50,000 miles, and they never fixed it proper. By the time Daimler bought them out, the POS was like having AID's, or Leprosy, no one (dodge/chrysler), wanted to even look at it.
On top of insult to injury, I once needed a water pump. A GM or Ford pump cost $20 back then. A Datsun water pump was part of an Assembly, one had to buy the whole damn assy, the water pump, pulley housing and clutch fan, cost-$75...!
What one saves on sticker price, one gives back over years in parts costs. Fking cheap plastic POS.
