Oregon didn't actually raise taxes so much as reproportion them to restore them back to where they used to be. Maybe 2 or 3 posters on this board were affected negatively, but overall paying more taxes is a small price to pay for the priviledge of being rich.

That said, neither party in Oregon has made any serious overtures to cut or even slow spending. Both parties are pushing all kinds of projects and programs like they always have.

You are correct. Oregon did not raise taxes. We simply redistributed wealth.

Could you cite a few examples of the republicans doing this, please?
 
It baffles my mind that it comes as a surprise that government should have to make big cuts when the economy takes a big down turn.

do you mean current administration? I don't think any republicans have really increased spending since Bush went out of office. Although Bobby "hypocrite" Jindal makes me laugh.
