Stephon Marbury to be a Knick

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Isiah Thomas has upgraded the Knicks point guard position in a way that New Yorkers have only dreamed about: Brooklyn-born Stephon Marbury is returning home.
A league source told the Daily News that the Knicks were prepared to announce a blockbuster deal that would bring Marbury and Anfernee Hardaway from Phoenix to the Knicks for Antonio McDyess, Charlie Ward, Howard Eisley and the rights to former second round pick Milos Vujanic.</div>

Huh? McDyess? Why? What about Stoudemire? Just freeing up cap space for next year in Phoenix? Too many questions - this one is completely mind boggling!!! If this does happen, Isiah has just pulled off one the most amazing trades in the history of the league!

WOW

Isiah is becoming a god in New York like he was in Detroit

What a great trade for the Knicks

What an amazing deal. Isiah! Isiah! Isiah! Is there any reason why the NBA would decline this deal, other than not being fair. This proves that the Suns are just gonna tank this year.

That deal is Sick. In the good way. The Knicks should be something to reckon with.

my god what an awesome trade for u knicks fans. Isiah said he was gonna fix things and u see he's already doin thangs right. I am glad we play u guys tomorrow night and not next week, by then these guys will have jelled into your lineup and the knicks will be tough. my goodness.

One Word Sums Up Isiah------balls-------
This Man Has A Set Of ----balls-----

Hot damn. I never would have expected this to happen, especially with Starbury coming off of his 44 and 17/10 assist performances. I can't believe it.

theres more to this incredible deal, <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> New York acquires Marbury, Penny Hardaway, and Cezary Trybanski from Phoenix for Antonio McDyess, Howard Eisley, Charlie Ward, Maciej Lampe, the rights to Milos Vujanic, and cash.</div>

so its knicks trade dice, ward, eiesly, lampe, rights to milos 2004 1st , conditional future 1st pick, and cash

suns trade, marbury,penny,Trybanski

this makes the knicks top 5 in the east and a huge contender for the east(on paper) we all know how marburry did in NJ, basicly an extention of NY

Wow!

Props to Zeke! He made the Knicks better..never expected it!

Wow...I was surprised as well! Looks like the Kidd-Stephon rivalry will be a notch higher.

Its a bit surprising- in THAT deal was done.

Overall, I am not too shocked that Marbury was traded.

Same here

Damn this is the first major trade for Isiah Thomas, and it is a huge acquisition for the Knicks. Many things to say, but Marbury moving is a lot... I thought he was gonna be there for a while but I no anymore.

I like this trade for the Knicks, gives them a scoring PG to go with Allan Houston. Also, Penny comin off the bench for Houston isn't a bad idea either...

Wonder how Marbury will look in a Knicks uniform...

I always thought it was gonna be the big three...Marion-Marbury-Amare. I guess change had to come since they should be doin better. Great trade for the Knicks, look out for them to be a good team in the east.

Van Horn-Houston-Marbury

Iam not a knick fan but they have the sickest backcourt in the East now. Can you just imagine Allan Houston knocking down all those jumpshots off of Stephs penetration. And steph will get a chance to play alot of brcause they have Frank Williams, Moochie,& penny who can all handle the point. But the person who going to be affected in a negative way is Van Horn, he had his worst carreer years playing with Steph. And when steph got traded for J.kidd, Van Horn let it be well known in the NY news papers that he hated playing with steph.because he never passed the rock in key situations. Its going to be interesting to see their relationship on the knicks. But the Coney island kid is going to be an instant favorite at the worlds most famous arena. I dont know how long this deal was in the works but it seems like everytime the Knicks get embrassed, Thomas makes a move. And they got worked last night by the Nets in the 4th quarter.

I didnt see this one coming! WOW. Amazing deal

that's a great deal for NY Knicks, just bad that they had to make it just before the game against Cavs:(
Props to Isiah Thomas for this one!

The Knicks did give up a lot, but it's still a great move. If this truly is Marbury's last NBA stop, Isiah has just made an incredible move for this franchise. Penny is also still a decent player, he'll fit in well with the Knicks. New York needed help right now, and they just acquired one of the top three PG's in the L. If Isiah keeps this up, he's going to get his own statue in front of MSG.

Give alot they gave up their a hole future. They probably gave up a lottery pick this season. Cause I dont see the Knicks making the playoffs this year but looking at players that are projected lottery picks. That might not be that much.

Marbury proved a few years back that he could not play well so close to home when he played for the Nets. Hopefully it will be different. This is going to bring Knicks Basketball back to life everybody and their mother knows Marbury in that area but hopefully he will perform better under more presure than he has endured in his career.

I will be shocked if Knicks don't make the playoffs.Isiah is a winner..always has been.Losing games like Knicks have over the years will not cut it...So him making this move and giving up draft picks is no surprise. This is what he is about. He is banking on now and not the future.

I won't give Thomas that much credit yet, fact is he could not have messed up the Knicks situation any more than what it already was. Marbury has been traded 5 times in his career, but overall I think this is a safe gamble, the Knicks can win some games now, get in the playoffs, and sell some tickets.

I like the deal for both sides, and boy did this just come out of left field.

Whoa dont set your standards to high for the Knicks the reality of the Knicks going to the playoffs. With the season almost half way in you thinnk Marbury and Penny Hardaway will lead them to the playoffs. Maybe they will finish above .500.

I never thought i would be buyinh a NY Knick Jersey...this trade is amazing, and it is only a sign of teh changes to come in NY, Thomas said he wasnt happy with Lampe and Mcdyess, and he wants to see how Sweetney will perform, I guess Kurt Thomas is safe where he is.

This is the eastern conference

A line-up of

Marbury
Houston
Van Horn
Thomas
Mutombo

Is good enough for a playoff spot. They are only a few games back...while they have been playing pretty good lately. On Paper they are a top 5-6 east team....As long as they play togeather a playoff spot should be expected.

Finishing above .500 is almost a sure ticket to the playoffs in the Eastern conference...

Marbury played his game as a Sun in Toronto. cool. lol Good trade for New York.

Honestly as a New Jersey Nets fan, I have to agree 100%. Marbury is not a winner, He is a stat hog. And adding him to players like(houston, Van Horn) who have a tend to shy away from aggressive players /and teamates could be a mix that doesnt work. These current knicks arent use to playing with a point guard that takes more shots than them(with the exception of Kieth Van Horn, who played with Marbury in Jersey & admitted on several occasions after steph got traded, that he hated playing with Marbury). Rick Mejaris, Kieth Van Horn's college coach even trashed Marbury in a local news paper saying that Van Horn was never the same player after he played with Van Horn for those 2 seasons. So how is Van Horn, who starting to play well as a knick, going to react to playing with Steph again. And Houston ,who was known for shying away from the offense when sprewell was their chucking up shots, How is he going to react to playing with a player who is similar to spree? This was a move that was 100% for the Knick fans. The Garden was starting to empty and get boring. And Thomas just filled it back up by doing this trade. He just better hope it doesnt back fire on him in the long run.

You really think Mutumbo will stay healthy for the rest of the season? You think Marbury can adjust to the East like that? After this trade do you think anyone on the Knicks is safe from a trade? You also must think Van Horn and Kurt Thomas will help lead the Knicks to the playoffs?

I love getting Marbury. Is the trade official yet? I keep hearing conflicting things about the draft pick, and who the Knicks get along with Starbury. So long as it isn't our first round pick, the trade is a steal. Perhaps some people owe Isiah some favors, and he's cashing them in. Now they gotta get rid of Van Horn and get Artest somehow. For those of you who prefer good citizens, move to Utah.
