Just in case Blake reads this forum, he deserves his own thread for his amazing first quarter tonight. Unbelievable. Fucking unbelievable. That was so fun to watch. Joel set the team record for rebounds in a game last season (also against the Clippers). Blake sets a record tonight. We got a great team.

Go Blazers!!!!

I just noticed that he got his 17 assists in only 26 minutes! That's pretty incredible.

Great game for Blake tonight especially that first quarter.

I have a question. If we denounce(not sure if this is the right word) Blake before July and sign a FA is there anyway we could sign Blake back before the season starts?

Blake was amazing. Everyone in my section looked up at the stat board and was shocked to see him with 14 asts after the first. We all wanted him to get 20! Oh well, Blake was great and deserves the accolades for this game.

Renounce. Portland can re-sign Blake if they have cap space. Renouncing Blake means losing his Bird rights, so Portland couldn't go over the salary cap to re-sign him.

Thanks I knew Denounce wasn't right but couldn't think of renounce. Well that doesn't help us get him back I guess. We would probably use all or almost all our cap to sign a FA. I know Blake and his family loves it here. So, I would think even if we renounce Blake he would sign back with us but not if we can't hardly offer him anything.

Not for nothing that Blake's performance was against the Clips at the RG. Remember the last time these two teams met here?

Nice to see Blake bounce back from what most of us called a "choke" job. (yeah, I rode him pretty good after that game . . . and don't try and pretend like I"M THE ONLY ONE - everybody wanted to choke the guy out that night)

Assuming the Blazers renounced Blake to sign a FA and that signing put them over the cap, they could still offer Blake their MLE. Not saying that's what they'll do, but it would be an option given the few number of teams that will have cap space this summer.

No you can't. If Blazers have cap space, they have to renounce their MLE.

Blake really doesn't get enough respect for what he does for the team. He sees the whole court very well, and he's calm, steady, and cool under pressure. I love the way he's elevated his game this year.

He would have had 20 assists had some of the guys shot a little hotter :) they missed a couple of easy ones. But Blake did a sweet job, and it was awesome to be able to see it.

I watched the game on tape delay, as I was in San Francisco seeing SF Ballet perform Swan Lake.

Damn, nothing like TWO classic masterpieces in one day!

Go Blake! That was awesome. I really think we should keep him on the team for a while.

It was a great first quarter. I was surprised that he got assists on a couple of them... he passed to a guy at the three point line, the guy pump fakes and does dribble-drive for a layup. And that's an assist? Wow. He got at least two like that at the end of the first.

Of course, there were a couple of open jumpers that guys missed, and the vast majority of the assists were very good finds.

The Clippers sure aren't very good right now, though :)

I'm a big Blake fan and have been hyping (maybe overhyping) his importance to this team.

If this team is too make some noise in the post season, they need Roy, Aldridge, Blake and Joel to be healthy and clicking . . . consistent performances by those 4, and a couple players contributing each night from the supporting cast should make for a fun second half.
