Amar'e Stoudemire will be under a tight minutes restriction this season as he attempts to play though a knee condition that is getting progressively worse.
Stoudemire averaged 23.5 minutes per game last season.
"We've just got to figure out if it's going to be 10 minutes, 15, 20. We won't know at this point until he's back on the floor and seeing how things are going," Mike Woodson said Tuesday.
Stoudemire has missed the New York Knicks' first three preseason games this season and may not be ready for the season opener on Oct. 30.
