The Heat and Bucks can kick rocks unless it's Bam coming to us as the third team. I'd love to give the Bucks their swaps back, even the best of the 2029 picks for Bam, maybe they can even get Clingan along with Grant and Murray for salary purposes.
WUT?

you'd give up all three Milwaukee swaps and pick + Clingan for Bam?

I like Bam, but he isn't worth all that

Giannis is just a 31 year old taller Deni without the passing. I wouldn’t give up the farm for him. His game is built strictly on athleticism which doesn’t usually work out great as they age.
while I tend to agree about the athletic thing, and I go back and forth on if the Blazers should go all-in on Giannis....

saying Giannis doesn't have Deni's 'passing' is completely false; not sure how you arrived at that

* Deni has averaged over 8 assists/100-possessions just once, this last season.
* Giannis has averaged over 8 assists/100-possessions for 8 straight seasons

* Deni has had a season assist rate over 20% just once, this last season
* Giannis has had a season assist rate over 20% 5 times

* Deni's best assist rate (this season) was 32.2%
* Giannis best assist rate (also this season) was 38.7%. Giannis has beaten Deni's best 5 times

* assist/turnover (career): Deni 1.73....Giannis 1.67
* assist/turnover (this season): 1.74....Giannis 1.72
* assist-rate/turnover-rate (career): Deni 1.22....Giannis 2.04
* assist-rate/turnover-rate (this season): Deni 2.01....Giannis 2.93

Giannis is as able and as willing a passer as Deni; maybe more able & willing as he's proven it for a decade while Deni has shown it for one season. Personally, I think Giannis and Deni on the same team would be an awkward fit, at best. The experiment could easily fail. At the same time, about the only way that Portland could contend is if Giannis and Deni did develop synergy and learn how to compliment each other. It's a long shot; I'm jst not convinced it's a long shot worth taking

Giannis has also had 7 more seasons while Deni might not even be in his prime yet so I’m not sure the career numbers really matter yet. As far as this last season Giannis played 36 games so I feel like his stats could be inflated a bit with a small sample size, especially the career best stuff.

I’m not saying he isn’t an elite player, I’m just not sure giving up everything for him at 31 is the best move. Even if he has 5 years left, Dame and Jrue don’t. It seems to me in 2-3 years we will be in the same position we were with Dame before we traded him.

Go for broke move-probably wouldn’t do it but “if” they were healthy that’s a solid starting 5

Brown in 3 team deal for Giannis- Scoot and Buck picks
AD for Jrue/Sharpe/Wesley and 1st rounder

Dame
Brown
Deni
AD
Clingan

Bench
Tou
Resign Thybule and RWill

Still leaves you an out of things don’t work you trade Brown for a couple of future 1st and dump AD. We also still have our first if things go south or need to make an adjustment. Defensively we’d have monster squad minus Dame and plenty of offensive power. AD gives you player who can guard Wemby.

I’m not saying I’d do this but would give you maybe your best chance at a championship roster.

but you said that Giannis was just a taller Deni without the passing. That's obviously false. He's as good, or better, than Deni at passing. And he's done it for a decade while Deni has done it for one season

I think what tilts against it, for me at least, is that there is more than enough smoke about Giannis wanting Miami first, and the east 2nd. And there's this: Giannis has a player option for 2027-28. And that's at the same time that Miami could have enough cap-space to offer Giannis a max deal. There's just too big a risk of Giannis opting out next summer

Cason Wallace ought to be a target as the PGOTF. Hinting in his post season interview that he wants to be a starter some day which won’t happen as long as SGA is there.

Big swing — I’d look to land Trey Murphy and Zion.

Pass on Zion, Murphy and Wallace would be excellent.

The problem I see with any trade with OKC is, what do they need?
They are a pretty deep team when healthy, so other than cap space, which I am not sure we can help with, what can we offer?

I guess they can use more outside shooting, which we do not have, or someone to guard Wemby, which no one has. (other than maybe Giannis, but that is from what I have read, not from what I have seen)

"intrigued"
love it.
but i see no fucking reason for POR to pay for that, which is what ever BOS fan expects.

I live in Mass, and I haven’t heard anyone saying they want Giannis. They love Brown.

For me personally, Bam is the exact type of player I would give all that up for. But of course, Miami wouldn't trade Bam, so it is moot.

Zion would go into a deep depression in Portland. The Rain/Strip Clubs/Donut Shops would be the end of him.

This is the guy. Only getting better. Lights out shooter. Fits right in age wise with most of the key guys.

Again I ask: why the fuck would New Orleans let him go? Only reason would be if he played the same position as Derrick Queen, but he doesn't.

I think NO knows they are 2 or 3 years away and want to get assets to rebuild faster which makes me wonder why they do not trade Zion too since he has a contract that can be ended at the end of every season IF i recall hearing and they might be able to get a 1st and a solid player in return for him.

No clue, but there’s a lot of smoke with a lot of teams. Supposedly Indiana is willing to offer 3 1s.

How would people feel about Any off the bench? I say no.

I would add a "hell" to the front of that. Like the kid, but there's a reason the Celtics are just letting him walk. When will he and the Orlando Magic realize that they are destined to be together?

The Celtics didn’t let Simons walk. They traded him for Vucevic which turned out to be a big mistake come playoff time.

Who has said AD is available?

Ant's salary this season $27.6M
Non-taxpayer, full MLE for 2026 is $15.1M up to $65.1M total for max 4 years
As a back-up with his production, it's a reasonable salary.

For the Blazers? No.
I would be surprised if he got a full-MLE deal

Most off-seasons I would have loved to sign an Ant level player in free agency. We normally never get those.

This team does not need another guard EVEN if we trade Sharpe I would still say NO to Ant returning and hell even if we trade Scoot in a trade for someone I would still say NO to Ant if we were down two guards. I mean sure he can shoot but IF we trade out 2 guards ( Scoot and Sharpe ) then the guard coming in needs to play solid to good D and be an above average to good shooter and Ant does not fit this is -- NOPE on his return.
