Since the FIBA World Championship will be played in September, the WNBA was under pressure this season to complete things as quickly as possible. The 34 regular-season games on each team's schedule are packed tighter than usual.

That has created challenging travel itineraries, and it meant the Indiana Fever arrived at Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday just hours after beating Washington on Friday night at the Verizon Center. Not a lot of time for them to catch their breath and prepare.

"We took a 10 a.m. flight," Fever coach Lin Dunn said. "We had a choice of a 6, too. But that would have meant getting up at 4. Not good."

Meanwhile, waiting for them were the Connecticut Sun. And whether fatigue was a factor is hard to say, but this was certainly the Sun's night. Playing with a lot of energy, pushing the tempo, they beat the Fever, 88-71.
