After five days of training camp here, Sweetney appears to have the edge over veteran Kurt Thomas for the starting power forward job, but that ferocious battle will be decided during the eight-game preseason schedule.

"Sweetney's going to be one of the best power forwards in our conference," Aguirre told The Post. "There's no doubt in my mind. There's no stopping Sweetney. You can't stop Sweetney form turning into what he's ready to turn into." </div>

That's my boy. If he developes a sold jumper, he'll be in the All-Star game soon. Mark my words.

Sweetney if given minutes could put up Randolph type numbers, If he doesn't become a 18 and 11 player I will be surprised. He has the moves and the weight size to bang inside.

I actually saw him work out early this summer, he looked in much better shape than last year.

I really like Sweetney,he's my favourite Knick right now.I really hoped back when he was drafted that the Sixers could get him somehow but Knicks made a great future investment by drafting Sweetney,he can become a Randolph type of player. It would really help the Knicks in the paint as i don't see Nazr becoming a double-double player (I may be wrong though)

I would like to see Sweetney starting to see what kind of numbers he can put up.
