On June 8th The Giants were 42-21 & were 9 1/2 games up on the Dodgers. Since then the Dodgers have gone 14-6 while the Giants have gone 4-15. After today they are now dead even.

As a Giant fan I'm pissed. Even though nobody picked the Giants and IMO over achived for the 1st two months I was as happy as a pig in shit that they were doing so well with a healthy Pagan at the top of the order & 1st baseman Brandon Belt off to a red hot start & new comer Michael Morse kicking ass. Well now Belt breaks his finger & has been out & Pagan & Morse are also injured.

At this point I'm just hoping they can hold on to a playoff spot.

You know I got to rib you on this one Rick...! :devilwink:

Go Bums....good rivalry here...!

Tho', I do like the Giants, and have always despised the Bums, until Joe and Donnie came along, to give me a reprieve from Tommy.

Donnie was on the radio last night, commented on how the lack of errors in the last month, has propelled the Team. Bums went from worst fldg. pctg to 1st (for the last 30 days only). Plus Don mentioned both Beckett and Kershaw's NO NO's, kick started the Team, along with Wallach's constant daily fielding drills.

those bums were a comedy of errors prior to late May.

28 straight scoreless innings for Kershaw.

28 straight scoreless innings for Kershaw.

15 K's in his last 9 inning game, 13 in 7 innings of today's game. Imagine if Clayton would of stayed in good health the beginning of the year, we wouldn't be having this discussion....

28 scoreless innings, and 28 K's, in his last 2 games, or 16 innings. Can Kershaw make an assault on Hershiser's record, or even tie Drysdale...? I say why not...!

I'll be more impressed when he reaches Orel Hershiser territory... 59 straight scoreless innings again and I'll be impressed...

Definitely an incredible pitcher on a hot streak, but I would take Hershiser in his heyday then Kershaw...

I got to see 1 of Herhshiser's games during his streak, "He was utterly masterfully painting the corners, and I have NEVER seen a Pitcher keeping all Hitter's off guard. He'd throw a huge curve, when they expected his fastball, and vice versa. Yet, Kershaw had the same magic going on in his last 2-3 games, also. Haven't seen a Bums or MLB Pitcher like Hershiser since Kershaw/Greinke (who doesn't have his top speed fastball like Clayton does anymore, yet is still quit unhittable too), and again........Herhsiser was great, yes, so was Fernando Mania, during his rookie streak, but NO ONE Compared to the Glory Years of Koufax/Drysdale, or heck even Marichal was as good.

Tho' my Favorite all time SP is by Far the Great Bob Gibson...! :smiley-bowdown:

Then again, other great dominating flame throwers we've seen: Randy Johnson, Nolan Ryan....and several others....(I boycott Clemens these days)....! (sorry)...!
