There are NINE teams in the East that are worse than us. And there are a lot of middle of the road teams in the west. I don’t think we’ll be in the running for a Top 5 draft pick so let’s go for the playoffs this year. Only 1 team wins it (well 2 if you include the Cup) but that doesn’t mean the other teams don’t have fun. This team is so much better on D than the Lillard (non Wes) teams and Sharpe is our best all around player since Drexler.

Super impressive wins against the Wolves too.

If it's Sharpe/Clingan/Camara/Banton leading our team to wins as was the case the last few games I'm totally fine with our pick not being as high. That will mean our young roster talent is worth even more than that pick.

Let's see how the next 10 games go, only bad team was the one we just played in Atlanta.

It's not even Thanksgiving yet lol.

Trade JG, ant, and DA.

We play to get better, lose, and improve. The year means nothing except improvement while losing.

To think it matters to make the playoffs this year... that's worst case scenario.

It's all about next year.

If we play to get better, if we improve, we’ll win. You’re missing the fun.

How? There aren’t many great teams in the NBA this season. Do we play Cleveland 12 times?
Remember everybody, we were told by a MOD that everything he posts, he’s “joking”.

Because they play 9 of 13 on the road, and of those 13, only 1 is against a bad team (Utah).

This is probably a lottery team, but it doesn’t appear to be a top end one. Hopefully they can use that pick to help move someone? We also need to find a real answer at F/C who is mobile. Clingan can’t play against some teams, and while Rob is great, he is more fragile than some egos around here.

I am with ya Speed. F the tank.
Let these guys win and grow while doing so!!!
Blossoming right before our eyes.

I had minni, a conference finalist, as losses and they weren't. Likely a few more of these scattered in the next set of games you are looking at.

I have not been politely asked to leave the Uber driver alone but I will sit this one out and just read this thread from here on out. Should be interesting until the exact same conversation that is happening in 10-12 other threads takes over.

We just need to miss the playoffs (not even play-ins!) and get lucky. Remember Shaq's rookie year in Orlando...

Also? I predict a lot of nagging injuries after the all-star break.

If we use our lottery pick just to move one of the stupid contracts we previously added in Grant Ant Ayton I'll lose my shit.

We just need to end up in the top 5. This draft is loaded.

Flagg/Bailey would be a dream. But tons of top end talent after them too. Most would have gone #1 last draft.

Also keep in mind, Chauncey's teams have taken a nosedive defensively once opponents have scouted them. This usually manifests in December/January, and Billups rarely has counters. I think we still end up with decent lotto odds this year, regardless of trades or personnel changes.

I think some of this shouldn't be a surprise, to be honest. Sharpe and Williams 3 missing most of last season put them at a massive disadvantage. And then Scoot sucking, and the magical injuries that "hit" them later on, I think the team was better than their record implied.

Not playoff contending better, but not tied for 3rd worst record bad.

Only the team with the worst record is for sure getting a top5 pick.

Prior years we didn't have as much defensive length and big wings, so I could see our defense holding up much better.

Still would think we're a clear lottery team, we may just not be a bottom 5 team. Might even be striking distance to the playin until late in the season, depending on the west 9th/10th teams health and play.

Sharpe also is not going to sit as he needs to earn his extension. Then there is supermax criteria for him to eventually start building a case for.

Who knows, lots of season left and as we tanked hard the prior 3 years post trade deadline, we should likely expect the same.

If we want to lose, we need continue to start Scoot and let him play 36 mpg.

We're not going to be able to straddle the fence and get a high pick this year. This is too good of a draft.

There are teams tanking hard for this draft. If we aren't one of them we're going to be picking out of the top 10.

We'll probably be too good to tank next season.

i feel like this organization has never successfully tanked and hit a HR with the pick. unless I am missing one? Like tanked in an effort to get the 1st pick, or came up at 2, 3, and it worked. So just function like a professional, successful team, and see what happens. If they go all in tank mode i just doubt they walk away with Flagg or Bailey.

Yep. Flagg will go to the Sixers or the Wiz, and we'll end up with someone like Kon Knueppel or Liam McNeeley.

We got Aldridge... We got Walton and won a title. Even though we didn't pick Jordan we still got Sam Bowie, and we traded Sam Bowie (who was a 20 and 10 guy for a few years) for Buck Williams....
