Charles “Mask” Lewis, the co-founder of the mixed-martial-arts apparel company TapouT passed this morning after a fatal car crash in Newport Beach. Newport Beach Lt. Craig Fox said. The Ferrari “hit the curb and then collided with a pole.” The Porsche came to a stop at the scene for a few seconds and then sped away, Fox said. A woman in the Ferrari was ejected during the accident and taken to a hospital, where she was in stable condition, Fox said. He said police have not determined which one was driving and which one was the passenger.

I've driven that road, lots of exotics go down that road at high speeds..really high speeds. Not shocked...wonder if the dude was a roid rager and road rager. I hate when fuckers try to race you when driving...seriously wtf man.....shit is fucking dangerous and if he was racing he deserved what he got.

No matter who he was or how he died, RIP.

oh yeah, people who rock Tapout shirts are tremendo-douches.

Lol,

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Its funny all these douches running around wearing tapout shirts or team quest shirts in attempts to play it off like they actually fight.

Big time douches.

oh...is that what it is. one of my buddies in seattle is doing that shit i guess.....jujitsu and MMA. kind of whatever, that whole culture bugs me. one of my friends in the bay works for Strikeforce MMA....its all kind of lame. the whole culture of it...can't stand when my friends start nerding out on MMA matches and shit.

New reports came out that he wasnt racing anyone, and he didn't even knwo the guy that hit him. And that he was not driving at any illegal speeds. The guy hit him... and Mask wasn't drinkin at all, as he didn't drink anything ever.

And idk how you can't like mma. I mean I hate the douches that walk around in Affliction and tapout shirts but the sport can do things to my nerves that no other sport can do.

A porche happens to cut a ferarri in half? 50mph? doesn't sound plausible to me. I've seen how fast and how asshole-y these exotics drive down there in NB...maybe he was innocent, but granted my first hand experience and the situation, it doesn't seem true.

The pole cut the ferrari in half. Maybe the porsche bumped the ferrari and sent it spinning into the pole?

barfo

I can only see that happening if they were racing to be honest.

I almost got into an accident like this...i was the passenger and my friend was driving the car...raced another guy in an Acura and we were going around a curve and the acura lost control and my friend had to swerve to avoid him hitting us.....we were probably at 90mph in a 35, spun around 3-4 times and came about 5 feet from a lightpole.

I always hated riding with him.

Mask looked like a douche but he did a lot for the athletes. With the MMA federations paying out little to unknown fighters, these guys have to rely on sponsorships. TapouT has sponsored just about everyone.

As for the MMA culture, if there is such a thing, I think you'll find that fans of MMA are pretty much the same as fans of any other sport. The vast majority of them are cool but some people take it too seriously or express themselves in a shitty way.

Also, these cars tend to disintegrate in high-profile accidents. Dany Heatley's car did that too but he was going fast.

The guy driving the porche was going fast and was drunk.

Lewis was not drinking and reports are saying he wasn't racing. He probably wasn't doing 50mph as he had bought the car several months ago and had to stash it at a friends show room until recently.

So the asshole was the drunk guy in the porche and not the Tapout guy from what I've read.

If you like an adrenaline rush . . . try getting into MMA. Don't just watch and mock it, get into it for a show, listen to what they are saying, pick fighters you want to win, and watch a few matches. It's intense stuff.

I find I get more tense watching MMA than 24. :D

I would hope so, since 24 is a completely fake scripted show and mma is... well a fight lol.
