I recently had a power surge and my old surge protector now needs to be replaced.
(Being that it's as old as I am)

I spent 1200 on a tower 6 months ago, and on black friday I got a real good deal on a monitor.
Anyone have suggestions on a surge protector?

Also speakers for a computer? I don't feel like using a headset if I'm watching movies/blazer games etc.
So I need some speakers as my monitor doesn't have built in speakers.

Some of the best speakers I found for a desktop are ones by Klipsch and Altec Lansing. I have been using the Altec Lansing ATP3 which consists of 2 satellites and a subwoofer and a pretty good bang for the buck. The Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 are even better but a bit more expensive.

I would only buy a power bar/ surge protector from a reputable company and brand, not Amazon either. Power bars / surge protectors are often cheap Chinese knock off or fakes that don't work like they should. Anything legit will be ok.

Hook everything to exercise bike like Gilligan's Island and don't pedal too fast. No surges...
