Franklin has been credited as a pioneer of the TV talk show format, having presented The Joe Franklin Show from 1950 until 1993. He currently holds the Guinness World Record for being the longest-running continuous on-air TV talk show host.
He interviewed thousands of guests over five decades, including Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin and Andy Warhol.
