ok this sucks, i would have liked a different outcome

but

it is what it is, im over it

so

tell me about ray felton

havent seen him play much, i heard he is blazing fast? looking at his stats he is clearly a better outside shooter, but seems to struggle from inside the arc...can he get to the hoop? post up? anything???

any wannabe scouts out there? tell me something good please!

Ummm... He's young. Is that okay?

Out of shape chucker who can't run an offense in the half court.

I hate his game.

oh for fucks sake

That really is the only bright spot. I mean he is a better shooter than Miller, but he isn't good at much else. Really him being young is the only good thing I can come up with :/

He's really, really average ... decent in an uptempo (New York) system, but in a downtempo attack (Larry Brown/Charlotte) looks very "bleh"

Luckily, we have the fastest-paced game in the league.

At this stage he should be loads better than Miller.

so can a single person even come up with one reason why he is better than just trading for beno udrih?

i mean, i just dont see the upside there...i could see if he was 22 or something, but he has 6 years of around 15 PER play...whats the catch?

Sure. His name is much easier for Mike Rice.

He was solid in NY but looks very 'meh' in Charlotte and Denver. He needs a system that's uptempo. Now he's in one of the worst systems for his skillset.

IMO this move screamed desperation to get something done due to Miller's contract (T.O.) situation.

Felton being a better shooter is, in my opinion, overblown. Yes, his 3P% is higher (how could it not be?)...but Miller's overall FG% is higher. I guess it's more fair to say Felton has better range. But Felton's still not a good enough three point shooter (33% career) to actually stretch the court. And at some point you need to factor in shot selection.

Felton>Udrih. Seriously. Felton is more likely to shine in Portland than Udrih would.

yeah i know, just sort of lamenting the fact that we could have just signed a felton type pg for the MLE if we so desired

I don't know man....Felton's career PER is 14.5 and Udrih's is 14.1. Felton's strengths are more suited to a running game, and we all know Nate doesn't run. In any event - the point is Felton isn't much, if any, better than the Udrih's of the world, but the asking price in a trade was significantly more.

I asked a knicks fan:

You'll like him. Decent defender. Once he gets up to speed, he's great in the pick and roll. Not really an uptempo PG, so I'm not sure if he fits with the Blazers or not. A good enough shooter that you don't want to leave him open. Suprisingly good rebounder, too.

He's usually out of shape though, so expect a slow start.

Who would that have been?

oh for fucks fucking sake...we had an average player in miller already but...

who cares? earl boykins, antonio daniels, earl watson, chris quinn... does it matter? and like i said, sac was begging someone to take udrih. calderon could be had for a song...luke ridnour, etc, etc, and so on

if felton is an average player, heres a hint, those arent that hard to find, in fact we already had one

just seems like alot of wasted time and effort to get the 20th best pg in the league
