Superstars like Kobe, Melo, Durant, etc dont have games like Roy just did, Too say it was pathetic is being nice. Not only was he 3-12 but he misses free throws and just doesnt seem to be involved when out there. I mean, there was a huge gap in the 2nd when we were getting killed and roy did NOTHING. Thats what superstars do? I dont know but I just dont see it. Im beginning to think Roy is more like a Granger/Iggy then a Melo or Durant. Those kinda stars are acrap shoot. Likley can get you playoffs but thats the ceiling.

And then theres "LA" lol. What a disgrace. Big game? LA melts. Big shot. Wants no part. Big rebound? Hopes his teammate gets it. When we were down 7 in teh fourth and they miss a shot. LA literally just stood there and watched the NENE grab the board. If i was nate I would have benched his ass right there. His performance on offense was bad enough.

If you plan on winning titles with these two??? You gonna be pretty disappointed. Denver showed the difference between contenders and borderline 8th seeds.

please somebody defend them after that PUTRID FUCKING PERFORMANCE.

Translation: somebody, anybody, please give me the attention I so desperately need. PLEASE! Sorry, it's the truth!

Your act is so tired and played out, Rudy. Go take some E and get down to some house music.

So the Blazers (our two so called stars) played like a team trying to make the playoffs? Roy looked like a guy who could win us title.

No... this is just a blazers fan COP OUT as usual.

If Kobe didn't have games like that, I wouldn't be getting whooped every other week in my fantasy league.

Brandon (last night) 3-14, 12 pts

Kobe (last week) 3-17, 14 pts
(injured for a couple of weeks)
(week before that) 2-12, 5 pts
(week before that) 4-19, 11 pts
(week before that) 4-21, 12 pts

And that's just since January. Kobe Bryant has single-handedly fucked my team over on more than one occasion.

least kobe has an excuse with all his injuries. is roy gonna keep crying about the hammy? not to mention kobe has 4 titles. how many does roy have? roy cant even winning a playoff series.

they shouldn't be mentioned ever in the same breath. games like this tell me we have a granger on our team. thats it. while LA is more david west then he is gasol.

I thought Aldridge's game was OK. I only saw the second half and it seemed that of the few times he actually had the ball in his hands he either scored or made an assist about 75% of the time.

Roy didn't seem to be doing much on either side of the ball, and seems to admit himself that his head was not in the game: "It was frustrating," Roy said. "Just being out on the court and feeling like you were out of it. I gotta do a better job because guys look at me and if I seem as if I'm not into it, then I think they kind of follow."

It seemed like Miller sat too long in the fourth and then when he was brought back in it was with Roy and Bayless also in, so we were very small. Should Roy have told Nate he just didn't have it or should Nate have seen that, maybe.... I suppose Nate was hoping Roy would snap out of it. Either way, I don't think it has any long range implications.

LOL

"Kobe has an excuse with his injuries. Is Brandon going to keep crying about his injuries?"

What? Kobe gets the benefit of a double standard?

I guess there were better players to draft in the 2006 draft. They should have kept Telfair and Ratliff and Khryapa, better that than these guys. I'm going to dwell on it for four more years.

if your content with first round exits... roy and la are perfect.

i guess we should have stuck with the old jailblazers cause thats what they did.

this version just has a nice face on it.

All one of their first round exits. They're 0-1. That's .000 on any calculator. Zip for one and zip for a million are the same. It's like life, lose once and you don't get any more chances. If this team has taught us anything, it's that no matter how many or how few players are on the court, they will always play .550-.650 basketball.

I was wondering when you were going to turn against Roy, and here it is.

Is there a player that you like on this team? A coach? Anything? The logo? Is there any fucking aspect about the Portland Trailblazers that you enjoy?

He likes the logo, the brand name. We've established that. That's about it, though.

Seriously, this shit gets old Mixum....

it was a loss to a very good team on the road, DEN was shooting lights out and POR hung in there, but poor DEFENSE and the inability of the coaching staff to get players to RUN\PUSH the ball more on offense were the main reasons POR lost....

What not blaming Bayless and Rudy for last nights loss? Blasphemy!!!!:devilwink:

Finally someone gets it!

The Stache already has a championship ring. Roy and LA don't.

Looks like the Blazers should have drafted the Stache.

Haha, Ammo winning the title was the worst atrocity ever. When it dawned on me that it happened (because you don't really see him on the court, so it takes a bit of time to hit you), I couldn't stop thinking about all the times he's going to spend in sports bars two years from now talking to his haters, saying "What? I couldn't hear you over my championship ring."

As a Blazer fan I would say JR Rider winning a championship ring with the Lakers is the worst atrocity ever.

Ammo's ring will look good on his resume when he goes looking to play in Europe next year, oh and the fact that he's not afraid to cry in public after a loss. Europeans love players who cry.

Superstars like Kobe, Melo, Durant, etc

*nod* Kobe, Melo, Durant, Oden, etc.

Good thing we got Oden, right? Even if Roy settles in as merely a complementary star, Oden gives us our franchise superstar. Future is bright, eh, MIXUM?

While I will agree his sctick gets old, he does have a point. I don't think Roy or LA will ever lead us to the promissed land.

The reason Cleveland, LA, Denver, Boston and to an extent, Orlando, are good teams is because they have the blue collar players to make them more physical then the rest of the league. Every team has guys that can score. The question is, do they have to tough guys to bang, play physical D, rebound and generally make life miserable for their opposition.

That's why I was laughing about that Juwan Howard article and how players were kind of shocked about how physical and tough he plays. The reason they are shocked, is because they just don't get it. Physical wins. Pussies lose.

blue collar my ass... roy and la dont score as easy as superstars should roy works hard for every point. melo, kobe, durant do it effortlessly.

roy is a great player but hes not elite.

durant, melo, kobe, lebron is elite and thats what wins in the nba.

So...Roy will be Pippen to Oden's Bowie?

Thanks, that cheers me right up! :smiley-hang:

All of them work at it man. Don't tell me those guys don't work hard for their points, they surely do. They are just a talent level above the rest. But they won't win shit without the guys backing them up. If talent is all that is needed, why did Kobe take years to win a ring on his own without Shaq? Why hasn't Lebron won a ring yet? He obviously has more talent than anybody else in the league, but according to you that is all it takes. You have to have a blend of scorers and toughness to win at the elite level. If you have no guys to do the blue collar work, you just have a scorer out there with a bunch of chumps.

Well, IMO, Pippen was also a franchise superstar. He just happened to be alongside the GOAT. You're quite optimistic if you think Roy will also be one of the thirty greatest players ever.

More like Roy will be the Kevin Martin to Oden's Bowie.

Roy IS elite - but he does not score effortlessly! Roy needs an elite PF playing next to him....and LA is NOT elite.

LA is our biggest problem: No hussle, no "D" and I really question his heart. He's got no game-face whatsoever.

well then if thats true... we have a major fuckin problem.

and it doesnt change what i said... no title for these pretenders

I don't disagree! about not winning a title with this group.

I won't go as far as calling them "pretenders" like you do Mix, but we do indeed have a major problem; Aldridge is and will be our major problem. With him, we'll never be able to land an elite PF.

We should have attempted a trade (along with Rudy) to Toronto to land Bosh.

Roy's game, alongside Bosh, is what we need to add to this group to have any chance at a championship in my opinion.

Miller
Roy
Batum
Bosh
Oden (if ever healthy)

would not be a group of "pretenders."

PS: I think Webster needs to move on too. And although Bayless obviously has "talents" - he's not going to ever be an elite PG.

this summer the blazers need to stop hoping for greatness from average players. A guy like Cunningham is a greta example. Decent player for a team like bobcats. For a team who wnats to go somewhere. Not the answer. We need a banger at PF who can score easy buckets.

Bayless... We need a PG of future and it aint him.

Webster...Batum starting has killed him. Time to move him thi summer. Package Bayless and Webster... get a difference maker and then get a good player with the lotto pick.

Package Bayless and Webster... get a difference maker

"Bayless and Webster are worthless junk. Trade them for an impact player."

I like your reasoning. I have no idea why you get a bum rap around here.
