Who else watched the Mets vs Brewers
Now that is why baseball in October is so fun.

Kinda weird the way the wildcard round shook out. Now the NL is just divided east and west, and the AL is basically the Yankees vs the central division.

Shit! I thought this was OVER!

I've said this over and over but playoff baseball is THE BEST playoff of any sport. The anticipation and anxiety riding on every pitch of a close game is almost too much to bear. You never know when the moment is going to happen, but when it does it's such a rush. No other sport can match it.

I used to think I knew you…… I respected your opinions….. C’MON FAMS! The BEST playoffs of any sport? If you can fall asleep for a couple hours and NOT miss anything, really?

hahahaha ... sit down and get invested in a team and you'll see why. Sorry man, baseball was my first sports love and will always be #1 in my heart, especially for the playoffs, even if as a Cubs fan I haven't gotten to experience it often. Football has ebbs and flows, you know for the most part when the action is going to come. Basketball playoffs are boring and predictable for the most part, you don't have to watch a game, just watch the final 5 minutes and that's when things will be decided. Hockey is incredibly exciting as well in that on every rush, something could happen or nothing could happen, it's the unpredictably that is the fun part. When a team I care about is in the baseball playoffs, the anxiety and nervousness is there for 3 hours, hanging on every pitch and it only amps up as the game progresses.

@SlyPokerDog I think we have found the first member on here for me to put on IGNORE. If 3 hours of baseball make you nervous and gives you anxiety….. I would never want you on the FT line with the game on the line FAMS!

Baseball games and basketball games run much closer than you think. 2:22 for basketball, 2:42 for baseball as of 2023.

You're my boy, but I gotta put it on blast!

Football is 3 hrs and 12 minutes average.

Hockey is 2 hrs and 30 minutes.

And people say baseball is boring cause it takes too long. Lmao.

Cleveland been destroying Detroit. 6 batters, 5 runs in the first.

Also, if you don't understand the anxiety of baseball playoffs, I'm sorry. It's the best. It's universally said that baseball playoffs are the funnest to watch primarily because there's no game clock. (Pitch clock is different, there's no end until the last out is made).

The Dodgers got to the final strike of the game 3 times tonight before finally putting away the Padres. If you have a team you love, than yes baseball is an anxiety riddled game for 2 1/2 hours. Hitting a FT is exponentially easier to do than hit a baseball too.

I never said that. I think it’s boring because they all stand around for 3 hours bro. At least run around.

My last post here, I don’t want to mess with you guys that much. But the Portland Thorns average more attendance than quite a few MLB teams….people aren’t going to those baseball games for a reason FAMS. I have not seen kids in the streets playing baseball in the past 20 years FAMS. They aren’t playing in the streets for a reason FAMS. Enjoy the playoffs regardless.

Football takes 3 hours.

Baseball takes 2 hrs and 40 minutes.

Watch playoff baseball. Just the last 3 innings of a close game. You'll see. :)

Oh, and every baseball player moves on every pitch. They do not stand.

So I don’t even have to watch the ENTIRE game?

This is a unique city that women's sports thrive in (as they should everywhere, but I digress).

You can't base attendance (or lack thereof) on a disinterest in the sport. Case: Oakland.

You are correct, they don't play stick ball in the streets anymore. Too much traffic everywhere. So they built fields everywhere.

Keep posting in here, I like you and I love the discussion. No hate here FAMS. (And I know it goes both ways. Just discussion).

Baseball was my first love and still holds a special place in my heart because I know the technique and strategy of the sport.

if you weren’t exposed to the game at a young age, or I’ll even say, played a meaningful game of it, then it’s hard to understand the nuance.

There’s nothing more difficult than hitting a baseball. Even the best hitters only are successful about 30% of the time

Kids don’t play in the street because they have nicely manicured fields.

Look up Daryl Motley, FAMZ

Or it’s boring and nobody wants to sit there and watch nothing happen? Just mix in a little running around is all I’m saying.
I know we took my daughters to several of their friend's softball games hoping they would try it out as something other than basketball. They wouldn't even consider it...

Bro if it’s not a sanctioned league game there are NO kids playing baseball at a park. Nowhere in Portland at least. Soccer, basketball, football….everywhere everyday.

My daughter’s boyfriend all during HS was a star baseball player. First team all PIL….. no thanks. Out of respect for her, we used to go watch. Absolute torcher.

All the sports are being played all the time. This argument is silly since it's just confirmation bias over and over lol.

I feel that way when I have to watch my step kids soccer games. It’s like a big game of keep away

You think because I don’t like baseball I’m claiming I don’t see kids in the park playing it? Flat out no kids in Portland are playing the game anymore man. Every park you drive by in the summer there is soccer and basketball pick ups constantly. Occasionally football…..I have NEVER seen kids playing baseball here in town if it’s non team related. No pick up baseball games ANYWHERE bro.
