Good entertaining article.
He leans heavily on WAR but that's okay because the nuts 'n bolts stats of those players speak for themselves and I agree with most of his opinions on the players.
At one point I believe Nettles had the record for career HRs for A.L 3bmen.
Ted Simmons is not in the HOF but he's had his share of backers and advocates.
Munson is overlooked....yeah, I know he played on the big stage and got attention but I actually believe his accomplishments and skills are under appreciated mostly outside of NY fans and are overshadowed by him being The Captain and of course the tragedy.
He became the first catcher since Campanella to bat .300 with 100 RBI in three straight seasons and his CS% (44%) was 6 pts higher than the league average and ONE point higher than the great Johnny Bench and Munson's career .292 BA is large.
Munson batted .357 in six postseason series (.339 ALCS, .373 WS) and I seriously doubt if we'll find one pitcher who didn't think he was an excellent receiver.
I'm sorry but, we'll have to look long and hard to find a better all-around package for a catcher.
Trammel and Whitaker not only are underrated, they could be the best all around SS/2b tandem in history especially when you also consider how long they played together.
Good article.
I also posted an article from Schoenfield, he's been doing okay. lol

i just wish he could have found another stat to make his points besides the ridiculous & useless WAR stat.
