I think the issue is when kids don't fit into the masculinity "norm" , they are bullied and ostracized for being different. Getting away from outdated thoughts of how people "should" be might help us out a bit. And help them out . The point of the article, that girls are celebrated for breaking societal norms, and boys are not.
Or, we can sit around calling everyone cucks.

We don't need anymore freaks in the world and celebrate illness. They need to be locked up. Their violent nature is hard wired.

If we get away from traditional masculine role models and continue glorifying pussy ass crackaz, we're going to have more of these freaks who shoot up a school because they can't talk to anyone and can't get laid.

My grandma could certainly be violent. My mom brought us kids home one day sunburned so bad we should have been in a hospital. My grandma slapped my mom and screamed "WHAT DID YOU DO TO THOSE CHILDREN?"

I haven't spent enough time around kids face to face, but I wonder if they're as fucking awful in person as they are online.

Not kidding, the level of toxic behavior in video games is so much worse than it was when I was that age. It's a huge problem in some of the most popular online games like League of Legends, Overwatch, and Counter Strike. They're just awful to each other. There were a few bullies when I was a kid, but for the most part people were nice. I never heard anyone tell another kid to kill themselves, but you'll hear/see that constantly in online gaming. They call each other autistic. They joke about Hitler and racism towards black people.

Was this always there lurking under the surface or is it a new behavior?

Everybody is tough behind a keyboard and there are no consequences for saying or writing anything. People haven’t changed. Technology has.

On topic, I'm at the gym right now. Unscientific observation but the 20 year old kids here will never be the 40 year olds that are here now. They look like a different species.
