Hopefully someone good takes his place as the breaker of all NBA transaction news. Shams is the obvious reporter in the room, but Haynes and Stein probably have a chance too? Who's the dark horse? Holdahl?

I can't even imagine the pressure on him to always be first and always be right.

I quit writing because I spent two years cultivating ONE relationship within the Blazers and then in one summer the team cleaned house in their media department. I didn't want to spend the time rebuilding that relationship.

Imagine having to do that with ALL the teams ALL the time. I can't even fathom how much time and effort.

Good for him!
He was making big money with espn so it wouldn't surprise me with all the podcast and other beat reporters, they probably offered him early retirement pkg. So much info and so many sources now days.
Either retiring or pursuing other interest is a nice way of saying you've been let go.
