This has been talked about too much for a Blazer move. They never show their cards until the day before a trade. I'd say we're not getting Giannis at this point.

trading for Grant was talked about and rumored for weeks before the trade

and the Deni trade was talked bout a month or two before it happened

there were also some rumors that Cronin was going to trade some veteran players before his 1st trade deadline after Olshey was fired

that's not to say a Giannis trade is in the works. I think the Blazers will not pay the price for what could be a 1 year rental

Cued up to that point in the video if you want to watch it.

The rumors to Miami only sound too familiar.

Nothing has changed. They still dont have prospects to deal or valuable picks. Nobody is gonna want Jacquez, ware or Herro in a deal for Giannis. The Heat would need Herro if Giannis is there anyways.

The only leverage he has is can say he won’t extend anywhere else. I agree though, Miami doesn’t have shit. I think I’m starting to lean towards Boston getting him.

I just don't see him playing out a year and risking injury. Wherever he gets traded I think he signs an extension.

This is how I see it going down. This isn’t my trade but makes a lot of sense. Brown is from Georgia.

that's not a bad deal for for the Bucks; it's not great but it's better than what Miami could give. BUT, Boston is not giving up enough; at the very least they should give Milwaukee their 27th pick in the draft and give back Milwaukee's 2nd (40th). Celtics should also have to give up a young player

their calling card is players wanna go there. they have no assets to make this done unless giannis forces milwaukee to send him there

That's probably the most plausible one yet, although the Celtics might be averse to having Brown in the East. Would the Hawks want Giannis instead? The only think the Bucks gain from involving Boston is those two distant Celtics picks, and honestly, the package is enough without them - maybe even too generous.

Giannis has all the control so they may not have a choice. What team is going to give up a ton of draft capital to get Giannis when he’s just going to turn around and sign with Miami.

I don't see that happening. Too much risk for Giannis not to sign a max extension now.

Do you mean because whatever team he signs with can sign him for the most money? Not sure how that works but that’s a great point if true, but still a risk that a team probably isn’t willing to take. I know I wouldn’t want the Balzers to trade all the Bucks picks plus Scoot or Sharpe knowing there’s a chance he may not sign new contract with Blazers

That, but if he signs an extension this offseason he gets 3 or whatever more years in guaranteed money. So if he gets hurt playing this year and can never play again, he still gets paid all that money.

If he plays out the next year and gets badly injured, there's a strong chance Miami wouldn't want to sign him to a 4 year max next offseason.

When you are talking about guaranteeing that much money, I feel like you take it.

It isn't like if he got traded to Portland that he won't have a star next to him either. We can argue about fit with Deni but we have pieces. I feel like Giannis could think he could compete.

I bet we can make an offer for 1 year of Giannis(not the offer we would give if an extension was involved) that is still better than Miami’s best offer overall
