My Kudo's.....

Nate as "Leader" to night. In stead of Hup Two Three Four (Sarge) he calls Miller into his office and hands him the reins. (Leader)

If they continue to have this "attadking mentality" and rebound well they will go 5 and 0 on this road trip,

ABM's 18-0 is possible, just got the timing a little off. Kinda like a weather forecaster.

I have several

Kudos to Nate for opening up the offense

Kudos to Travis for finally taking it to the hoop

Kudos to the team for 35 assists

Kudos to Miller for setting the tone on offense

Kudos to Oden for playing good defense and still staying out of foul trouble

Kudos to Bayless for showing his preseason will carry over to the regular season

Kudos to Cunningham for getting his first points.

Kudos to Aldridge for going inside more

Kudos to Roy for struggling on offense and still making a huge impact on the game

Kudos to those who are saying Nate is making the haters suck it, when all he is doing is what we have wanted him to do for 3 years. That made me laugh

Kudos to you all for a thread that is postive. I just about puked when I read the game tread. But this thread ... well done.

BTW I have to add a kudos for Bayless as well. He is a work in progress. But if he keeps this up ..... decisions will have to be made.

Kudos to Mediocre Man for all his Kudos. And Kudos to Mixum for avoiding this thread (so far).

Kudos to those who said that you can't judge Nate's teams on pace until he has a PG he trusts that can push the tempo...

Kudos to 9 years of not having an NBA PG. Oh wait.

Jarret Jack, Steve Blake, Serio Rodriguez, Ridnour, Bassy? Surely a great list of point-guards to trust, not. He did have GP for a year and change - but it was a pretty old GP at that point in time on a team that could not get any defensive stops.

So, yes. Not a lot of good point-guards to trust for him, unfortunately. Miller is really the first fast-pace PG he had on his teams as a head-coach. Not a surprise he is letting him run.

My point was always that Nate seems to tinker with his roster until he finds the sweet spot for them and usually takes them to achieve more than you would expect from them. Happened in Seattle when he took a team with Ray Ray and Lewis and a bunch of junk pretty far - happened in Portland where a very young team with mediocre (at best) point-guards and very little defense - a lot further than any other team of the same age and experience - and finally, he has a PG he wanted to push the tempo with Rudy/Travis in the 2nd unit - and when it did not happen - he gave him another shot with Oden, LMA, Roy and help with Blake.

It is working - and it goes to show that he might not get everything right immediately - but when you give him the tools - he will figure a way to get it to work effectively.

Can we please not turn this into yet another Nate bashing thread? Please?

This is supposed to be a POSITIVE thread. I know some posters find that difficult to grasp. But can we try to have at least one thread void of negativity after a 23-point win? Is that really too much to ask? If you want to bash Nate (or Miller, or anyone else) please feel free to pile on in the game thread (the one from last night's 23-point win that saw the final 5 or 6 pages degenerate into negativity and petty bickering) or one of the many other Nate bashing threads. This isn't the place for it.

And yes, damning with faint praise is a negative.

from princeton.edu:

kudos - praise: an expression of approval and commendation.

Please note: that last word is commendation, not condemnation.

BNM

Kudos to Miller for making defenders pay for not respecting his (ugly-ass) shot.

I'll start.

Kudos to Travis for absolutely sizzling tonight: 19 points in 19 minutes, some decent D, attacking the rim and not settling.

Post 'em if you got 'em.

Kudos to Webster! I don't see too many people seeing this, but Webster lost his starting spot. If you watch him, he's just as aggressive and still seems confident. He's been a real "Team Player" not making anything public. Almost makes me feel like Webster went into Nate's office and told him, "Hey I have no problem coming off the bench in order to get us out of this funk"

Kudos go to Roy.

The folks on the radio who have called him arrogent and selfish need a reality check. Roy will do what is needed to win even if that means he plays decoy for the night.

Everyone on the team had a moment in the spotlight against the T'Wolves. Too bad Mills and Pendergraph weren't available.

Kudos to Outlaw for being decisive. He took it to the hole, he shot from three, it did not matter, whichever he choose, he seemed confident with what he wanted to do and it worked out very well. Also, he drew several fouls instead of shying away from contact.

Kudos to team play. Aside from Dante, who gets a pass, Everyone who played got between 18 and 27 minutes and had a +/- between +11 and +13. Thats impressive.

Kudos to LMA for being unstoppable and having quick hands.

Kudos to Miller, Blake, Rudy and Bayless for sharing decision making and making the right choices.

Kudos to Joel for 13 boards

Kudos to Roy for doing what's best for the team even if it meant only 2 points.

I could go on and on, there are so many Kudos to hand out.

how does making provocative statements like that keep this thread positive? All it does is invite him to post something in response.

My inference was that he wouldn't even bother opening a thread entitled "kudos". :D

Nate for taking the haters' advice!
LOL thank you! The reason people were "hating on Nate" is because the team was acting completely insane. Now that Nate has embraced opportunistic running, letting Miller call the plays, and pounding the rock in to Oden and LMA I have almost nothing to complain about. My sole remaining criticism is that he is a little too minute based on his substitution patterns. That said, props to Nate for recognizing his mistakes and going with the team's strengths.

Props to Bayless for embracing his role (some nice ball movement and assistage out there!). Props to Martell for constantly bringing the intensity. Props to Roy for being content (thus far) with being a decoy and distributing the rock. Props to Oden for his maturity this year. Props are damn near all around. Oh yeah Props to Dante Cunningham for shooting perfect from the field for his ENTIRE NBA careeer!

Perhaps, but I actually thought Jawai was playing very well, he was much more polished offensively in the post than I expected for a guy his size.
My wife kept saying Jawai looked like Grimace LMAO:

I think the biggest kudos may wind up going to Nate. His inability/unwillingness/whatever reason to coach an uptempo team is pretty well documented. Letting Miller impose his will on the game may be the biggest adjustment Nate has ever had to make as a coach. I didn't think he had it in him (and a big part of me suspects the commitment to pushing the ball will eventually go by the wayside).

My kudos goes to Roy . . . he alowed the Blazers to beat up the wolves without feeling the need to get his points. That can't be easy when early on you are in the hunt for being a top 5 scorer in the league, I'm sure he wants to repeat as an all star again . . . and probably feels teh weight of being a max out contract player who is expected to lead the team to the promise land.

If Roy can push all that aside and really just play with the single goal of winning . . . again kudos to him because that is hard for any star player to try and accept.

Sidenote: I like the Kudos to Nate for finally doing what many on this board have been saying for weeks. Only the I don't rememeber the people critizing Nate as being advocates to start Blake. So it's nice that posters are trying to get credit for giving the coach advise . . . but he really isn't listening to our advise . . . and he did not do what many are screaming for him to do . . . start Miller in place of Blake.
