The Mason Plumlee appreciation thead

I said this in the other thread but will repeat it.

I understand doing this deal but with that said Mase was the only Trail Blazer that you could say gave every ounce he had every game he played. That will be missed.

Always a pleasure watching him play. It was not always pretty - but the effort was always there - and when it did work out - it was very nice. It is a shame that he can not stay here - but Brooklyn's Crabbe offer, the match and the big contract for MyLe pretty much made it a necessity. I am sure Plums will earn a big contract next year - and some of the credit needs to go to his time in Portland and the play-making responsibilities he got here.

I understand they get paid well to put up with it but this is rough when you think of them as people instead of just contracts.

Will miss his:

Court vision
Passing
Fast breaking
Ball handling
Dunks
Work ethic
Hustle

Will not miss his:

Shooting touch
Interior defense
Free throws
How he got to the line so much in clutch situations

Overall, a good teammate and a good dude who represented Portland well. I wish him the best.

I know you guys love effort and all, but I really want skill at this point. If I had to watch Mason duff on another pass down low and drop it out of bounds my head was going to explode!

I'm sad to see him go, he was a pretty decent above average player. We need better than just above average though.

I was just telling my brother last night how we should trade Mason before we lose him. Didn't actually think it would be so soon.

100% AGREE

Nice guy, but not a starter caliber center. I approve of this move. Tank.

He was my favorite Blazer this season. He brought it every night and that's something I will always respect and appreciate.

Best of luck to you Mase, in all that you do. I hope you get the huge contract you deserve this summer. If Timofey Mosgov is worth $16 million a year, you're worth at least $20 million. Enjoy your future success and your upcoming financial windfall. Unlike many who get it, you've earned it.

I will miss your energy, your effort and your intelligence, on and off the court.

I'm going to miss Mason. He has his flaws as a player, but I always appreciated how much he worked his ass off every game. Even with his flaws, we are going to miss the many other things he does well. I think he was one of our leaders, and that's going to be hard to replace on a team that has struggled nightly with being mentally engaged. Good luck with your next contract, Mason. I hope you get paid what you deserve and find success.

Oh and Mason was my wife's favorite player. She's devastated.

I said he was a nice guy.

You also said he wasn't starting caliber and you approved of the trade. Even if you feel that way, those comments do not, by definition (see above) belong in an appreciation thread. There are plenty of other threads for expressing those sentiments (like the Nurkic is a Bazer!! thread). To express those opinions in this thread is inappropriate, disrespectful and downright rude.

If this is your idea of appreciation, I suspect you aren't asked to deliver many eulogies.
