With the years of eligibility reduced from 15 years to 10 years the following 9 players from the steroid era (90s to mid 2000s could be affected the most. NOTE: Several of these players in all likelihood wouldn't have made it anyway but now with 5 less years there's little to no chance.

Barry Bonds 8 years remaining
Sammy Sosa 8 years remaining
Mark McGwire 2 years remaining
Jeff Bagwell 5 years remaining
Tim Raines 2 years remaining
Curt Schilling 8 years remaining
Mike Mussina 9 years remaining
Roger Clemens 8 years remaining
Mike Piazza 8 years remaining

What will make it even harder still for some of them is that after their "eligibility" expires the only way to get in is by election by the veterans committee and those guys are even tougher concerning certain things and certain players.

I don't know Ron, if many of the guys on the veterans committee are players from say the 50s or 60s many of them may not even still be around by the time these guys eligibility runs out. I mean hell by that time the veterans committee could consist of players these guys actually played with.

...yeah but the veterans committee consists of HOF members and will gradually have new members added as others are subtracted (kinda like the supreme court)...everything I've read says that the veterans committee is even more scrutinizing than the baseball writers as far as induction to the HOF.

I seriously doubt the Vets HOF Committee will ever be the same, without their Chairman, the Great Ted Williams. Is it just me, or does the Vet Committee appear to of gone silent, since the passing of Ted???? Ted was outspoken with his views of Vet HOF members.......and I appreciated Him for as much.....

If they can thaw and reanimate his head.....does he get his chairmanship back?

Well Tom it would definitely give the committee the heads up on things.
...stem cells?

Oh boy, I stepped right into that pile, LMAO.....

Yes, I was just reading, IF the Cryo-Surgeons can get his head on any direction but backwards, his Chairmanship Position goes back to Ted by default......but then will he approach MLB, soliciting a MLB Team on the North Pole, and Antartica too. (Since Ted will bring new insight back to life, on what's its like to live or play frozen)......

Truly a Global game?
