Hard to believe that was turned a blind eye to as thats the sort of act that rightfully gets you terminated on the spot to limit the PR damage to the institution (see Anderson, Gary). His affair that was investigated was in 2005-6 and he was released following the dismal 2010 season which was on the heals of several other stinkers. From what I know, he was pretty much given a must win this year ultimatum following 2009. They finished 16-16 in 2010 and to no one's surprise he was let go.

I think the poor showing was the excuse they needed to let him go without the bad publicity.

All rumors though, but I've been under that impression since shortly after they let him go.
