[Big Frame]

Anyone else watch it yet? Its not as good as Band of Brothers, but its up there. check it out if you have HBO, or if you know a good torrent site.

I watched this, its pretty good. I think it will be interesting to see how it plays out, in Band of Brothers it was following one company through their experiences in the war, for the Pacific it seems like the characters the show will follow aren't going to have a lot of contact.

I think this series will turn out to be better than Band of Brothers. The brutality of the war in the Pacific really is unmatched, and I think alot of people are in for a surprise in the later episodes when they get to Tarawa, Iwo Jima and Okinawa.

Interesting side note: The commander who gave the speech prior to leaving for Guadalcanal is Chesty Puller. He's also the man leading the reinforcements when the comment is made "The real Marines are here now." He is the most decorated man in the history of the USMC and was awarded five (5) Navy Crosses. Literally one of the most remarkable soldiers our nation has ever seen.
