So this is way too premature, but I was just thinking about our how our Blazer squad would play against Miami if we get Chris Paul

Assuming Both teams are healthy.

Heat
Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, LeBron James, Joel Anthony, C. Arroya, M. Chalmers, K. Hasbrouck, U. Haslem, J. Howard, Z. Ilgauskas, James Jones, J. Maglorie, Mike Miller, D. Pittman

Blazers roster post Paul trade best as I can guess
Chris Paul, B. Roy, Greg Oden, LaMarcus Aldridge, Okafor, Matthews, Cunningham, Babbit, Pendergraph, Babbit, Williams, Johnson, Mills, plus 3 more players signed to the vets minimum.

In a 7 game series, what do you think would happen?

If Oden was 100% healthy, we would have a good chance.

I think that series boils down to who is healthy and who isn't. If everyone is I give us the advantage because they wouldn't really have anyone to stop GO from dominating the paint.

It is almost a good vs evil match up. =)

Make it so.

The entire Blazer's roster would foul out by the end of the first half

Still only a good matchup if Oden is on the roster. He creates a huge mismatch that four LeBrons can't match up to. If we trade for GO and get stuck with Joel or Okafor or Camby as a big man in the playoffs, we're on the outside looking in against teams like Miami and the Lakers.

That's my concern in Stern's NBA. That's why Paul + Roy + Oden is a must. Otherwise we'd be really fucked.

Lots of people don't seem to grasp that. Well said.

Let's see:

Arroyo/Chalmers v. Paul: Refs favor Paul
Wade v. Roy: Refs favor Wade
LeBron v. Whatever SF we trot out: Refs favor LeBron
Bosh v. LaMarcus: Refs favor Bosh
Any center in the league v. Greg Oden: Refs favor any center in the league
Heat v. Blazers: Stern favors Heat

Could be a tough matchup. :)

Bingo Bango Bongo. We MUST keep Greg Oden on this team, or there is simply no point in gutting it to acquire Chris Paul. I'd trade Roy or Aldridge for Paul before I'd trade Greg.

Perfect breakdown. But we could get lucky!

Pretty much. At least for this year. If Oden evolves into a new Shaq or Olajuwon level of dominance or wins a Defensive Player of the Year trophy, then he might stand a chance of not being in foul trouble all game. In which case we'd stand a chance.

As it is now, the refs probably would try to call it fairly until (if?) we'd won one or two games, and after that we'd be done.

Of course, if I'm wrong I'd gladly put this in my avatar for a month:

Don't lie...you want to make that your avatar. You just want an excuse.

If we scored CP3, I could see the NBA putting Trail Blazers vs. Heat as the #1 game on opening night on TNT.

We'd be on national TV a bunch more than we EVER have.

It's truly hypnotic, isn't it? Who knew that David Hasselhoff looked like a dick.

Well, ok, I guess everybody.
