This story pisses me off on so many levels.

If you haven't seen it, the short story is that an 80+ year old man who is dying of cancer was selling his $200k Star Wars lego collection through a huge franchise called Bricks and Minifigs.

This corporation has stores all over the country, and there are several in Oregon. His son was selling the lego sets through the store in Keizer. They started the process in 2023 and I think around $100k of the collection had already been sold.

Recently the Bricks and Minifigs corporate stole back the franchise from the people in Keizer and then took possession of the legos. The family tried to get them back and they would not give them the collection back.

Family brings in a youtuber because they need help. Youtuber has been going on a long process of trying different things to leverage the company to either pay the family or give the legos back.

The Keizer PD did not help, which was frustrating, but the corporate offices are in Utah and the small town cops in Utah have actively been working protection for this company. They have been harrassing and arresting the youtuber. They now have him up on charges of stalking simply because he was trying to serve the men from BAM with papers for a lawsuit in Oregon. The company is owned by Mormons. The cops are all Mormons.

Oregon needs to get involved. The story originated here. We aren't run by the Mormon church. The State police need to get involved if Keizer won't do their jobs. There have been death threats. There clearly was theft involved.

The blatant corruption of the cops in Utah is shameful, frightening, and needs to be addressed.

Some of the things they have tried:

Reporting it as theft. Keizer police would not help.

Taking BAM to small claims court. They won. They can't serve them papers because the police are protecting the owners in Utah.

Filing an actual lawsuit in Oregon and attempting to serve papers. He brought an actual process server with him and the police arrested him. If you watch the video it's actually insane. The police openly admit on bodycam that they're trying to scare him away and pulling him over for false reasons.

Seems to me a good attorney could easily win this case against local cops and corrupt religious power brokers. Obviously they won't hold them accountable on the local level but I'd be heading straight to the better business bureau and filing my complaint if I were them. Sucks that winning a case like this requires throwing money at a lawyer but we live in the American age of no accountability.

If only we had a competent FBI to investigate this level of corruption.
