That looks like a setup to me. A registered independent suddenly realizes Romney is opposed to gay marriage? Who's dumb enough to write a $2500 check without knowing something like that, and then is willing to advertise his ignorance?

It seems like the guy wrote a check to get publicity later. He's almost certainly got more than $2500 in advertising out of the deal.

Do you think that this independent who gave the maximum allowable amount to Romney has suddenly had a change of heart?

If so, then I can see why you'd think the story was worth reading (although I'd wonder if you were a bit gullible). If not, I wonder why you'd link to something that you don't think is true.

The contributor changed his mind after watching a Romney speech opposing gay marriage.

What is hard to understand? That a Republican was so stupid that he idealistically hoped that his candidate would remain discretely demure and wouldn't explicitly oppose his sexuality?

Or that a Republican was so crooked that he tried to pressure his candidate with a campaign contribution, and then vengefully punished him by asking for a refund?

Was the Republican stupid and naive, or crooked and vengeful? Quite a quandary.
