my oldest daughter worked at Roake's on 82nd when she was going to high school. She also worked at Farrell's before that and I went to high school with the owners daughter in which a Sundae was named after her. I believe Roake's is still in business on Columbia Blvd and McLoughlin. No more Farrell's though as that was a great place to go to.
Roakes is still on Mcloughlin and they still came a good coney and burger.
Yeah Farrell's was super, took my kids there for bday's.

Not to try and take this thread to far off topic, my favorite hamburger place was Stanich's on about 50th and Fremont. Close to home and close to my dad's shop so it was always convenient and rated one of the best. I haven't been there for awhile and I had heard it had closed but is now open again. George Stanich was a character as well as he had many stories and he even had my baseball picture for all league posted in the bar back in the early 70's, woohoo.

I have been visiting Foster Burger lately and they cook a pretty good burger as well, but unfortunately closed up and a new owner is taking over that appears to be mostly vegan. They are supposedly going to retain some of the more popular Foster Burger items but have yet to try them.
The best several decades ago was Gene and Joe's on Hwy 99 E near Milwaukee. They got bought out by Tebo's and went way down hill. Then there was the Carnival at the base of pill hill. Then they started to go downhill and finally out of business. Now, the building is torn down and last I looked was a vacant lot.

I used to go to Farrell's on West Burnside when I was in late grade school thru early high school for ice cream treats. Truly the best ice cream parlor I've ever been in.

If you want a good Coney Island try Nick's Famous Coney Island. His son was a Blazer ticket partner of mine years and years ago. His son is probably the owner now.

There is an Arctic Circle in Newport.

did anyone see the Burgerville in Beaverton (by the Fred Meyer) is closed?
No, say it ain't so. I use to go that Burgerville often. Love Burgerville's food for a modest price.

They have an Original Pancake House at the Moda Center? Cool.
The only one in Portland that I know of is the original one on Barbur Blvd. not too far from the Burlingame Fred Meyer, maybe two or three miles West on Barbur. Our family used to go there every Sunday after church back in the 50s shortly after they opened for the first time. I've been to the one in Cleveland and it was just as good.

We use to actually have sales meetings at Nicks Coney Island. It was actually more coney eating, beer drinking and bullshitting than a meeting though and always around the holidays. The new one just doesn't have the same cool grubby atmosphere. Frank was a great guy with all sorts of stories and his big Cadillac always parked in the primo spot in front. I have walked by the hew one but have never tried it out. It just looks too sanitary, lol.

Mike's was the shit!

Isn't the Lew's now a Mod Pizza?
We have a Mod's pizza out here in the Lake Grove district of Lake Oswego. It's in a shopping center just of Kruse Way which is an extension of Hwy 217.

I did enjoy Jesse Waters take on why we shouldn’t have Medicare for all...It’s because he likes his plan.
“I walk into the doctors office, get checked out, give them $5 and I’m on my way”

Lol, this man has never opened a hospital bill in his life, clearly.

Can I get on this plan please?

do you like Tucker - think he’s smart and on top of things?

Whenever I flick through channels this is the look I see if he is on. In other words, it's the look of a guy that has no clue, lol.

Fox news just plain sucks.....

I have tried to watch it several times just so that I can hear a different perspective but it's tough to even watch 5 minutes of it, especially their night time lineup of Carlson, Hannity and Ingram

Here’s a half hour or so of Fox that I think you’ll like.

I NEVER flick through that channel. In fact, it's not even on my list of channels that show up on my cable box. I can add or delete from that list.

Maybe take a look first?
That's the problem, I have seen these characters before, several times, which is why unlike others, I've learned my lesson and won't ever waste my time with that kind of trash again. I learn slowly but I do learn.

Too bad. You're missing Chris Wallace (who I happen to think is one of the best and least biased news commentators in the business) rip Stephen Miller a new one.

Jake Tapper and Jim Jordan was another good one.

Overall, the Trump surrogates had a very bad day yesterday.

I've heard good things about Wallace being a true journalist. Still, I feel so negative about Fox News in general that I just can't tune in to that channel for fear of accidentally hitting on some stupid crap that I can't abide by.
