We are so bent on reading the tea leaves, but honestly the moves of the last couple days say nothing at all about what may or may not happen. If anything they clearly do not indicate a rebuild.

Out: Batum, Blake and #23, future 2nd
In: Henseron, Vonleh, Plumlee Connaughten, Diez

I think it could still be argued that if all we did was resign our free agents we have made this a better team as a whole. IMO Olshey is acting based on keeping this team together still.

Actually, if anything, they predict that either A) Aldridge is staying, or B) we're retooling with someone like Love.

If you're rebuilding or blowing it up, you don't add two bench guys like Plumlee and Henderson.

I think it can predict minor things like Lopez might not get resigned because Plumlee's a cheaper crossgrade, and that we don't have to worry about Batum being a FA, but we might be after a SF (right now we'd start Crabbe? Wright? Really?)

It definitely predicts Rolo is gone because either well stick with a VERY solid Center rotation with Plumlee+Kaman at only $6.5M combined, or it means we'll pursue a top center and have Plumlee be great value off the bench

I totally agree, I was meaning.more specifically about Aldridge, these moves do not scream Lamarcus is leaving or even rebuild. If we can snag a halfway decent SF in free agency and Lamarcus returns this team has gotten better without keeping Lopez IMO.

It doesn't matter. It really doesn't matter. Let us worry about the money. You guys worry about the players and the team and how well or how poorly we play and how guys are developing. We'll worry about how we manage our cap and how guys get paid. Guys value is based on what they bring to the team and I can assure you that Nicolas will absolutely live up to this contract

...or we will trade him for a future lotto project and cap-filling average wing player. Whichever.

And I'm not positive that he wants us talking about how players are developing under Stotts and his rotations or how "developing players" matches with "how well we play". But we'll see in 2 weeks.

+> From the stat sheet Plumlee averaged 7.6 rbs and 11.8 pts in 45 games whilst employeed by the Nets. At least he can be an Affalo replica

Portland has enough to add two max guys. They desperately need a wing, but maybe they decide to trade for Hibbert and add a vet wing with either Aldridge or David Falk other client, Greg Monroe

Is Hibbert, Monroe and a vet wing enticing? I dunno?
