Really, really hurts. So much effort for three quarters... *sigh*

Yep. That just about summarizes it.

Yes. it does. I'm in a funk right now...sportscenter is on pause, tears in the eyes.

For the love of all things good,

QUIT LETTING UP THE OFFENSIVE ATTACK EVERY TIME YOU GET A FUCKING LEAD.

I don't get Nate. Why the fuck would you tell your team to stop taking chances when it was working all game long, only to go iso, iso, iso, iso, iso for the last 17 fucking minutes of a game?!!!

we were tearing the jazz apart in transition and fast break..and likewise for the jazz to us in the half court. THanks Nate for forcing the team into half court for the rest of the game

Yeah, bad loss. They just seemed so out of sync from the third quarter forward pretty much. That and Roy is clearly still not 100% and Andre couldn't shoot the ball in the ocean.

I guess if there's a bright side to this loss, it's that Canby had a decent game. :dunno:

Tough loss. Nobody to blame except for everybody. A complete team meltdown.

Honestly i really hope this team does not make the playoffs for the mere fact that Nate will be fired, hopefully

With all of the injuries, there is no chance that Nate gets fired. Most of the league is in awe of how he still has this bunch competing for the playoffs.

It hurts. You can't watch that game and just say "meh".

Its too hard dammit.

No it's not. If would have hurt if it were a playoff game. Game 7 of the 2000 WCF hurt. This season is as fucked as Obama's fiscal policies. All we can do is to continue to fight the good fight.

Last year I, and many of u, were laughing at Ric Bucher when he wrote an article detailing how OKC had a brighter future than the Blazers...

Looks like he was right

And for good reason. Nate's done an amazing job this season.

If I didn't care, I wouldn't have watched. I've been looking forward to this game all weekend...mainly for Camby, who had a good turnout.....just sucked what happened.

False. Unless of course you consider choking lead against New Orleans, Memphis, Jazz, and other teams I am surely forgetting an "amazing job."

We'll agree to disagree. And I'll bet the people who think the way I do know more about basketball than do you. There's a reason Nate is in the running for COY.

It's because the Blazers win in spite of him(counting the 6 guys that are out at a time). Nate has added nothing this year.

For the most part I agree, but tonight was pretty ridiculous. Running ISO plays for Roy when he is at 60% is not a winning strategy. Roy's +/- was -30 tonight or something close to that and the sad thing is that wouldn't surprise anyone who had watched the game.

That's still a BS statement. Despite a HORRIFIC slate of injuries all season long, we're still only a few games behind OKC. I'd like to see them without 4 of 5 starters for two months, and then with a hobbled Durant for the next month and a half.

It's not enough we have to endure a season where we loose half our team to injuries. No, someone really hates us. I can't remember a season with so many heartbreaking loses.

- Oden's missed FT's Vs Denver
- Double Digit 4th quarter lead, barrage of t/o's, and a loss at Atlanta
- Lamarcus Phantom Call in OT loss at Milwaukee
- 8 point lead with 3 minutes left vs Memphis
- 8 point lead with 3 minutes left vs Hornets - and lose at the end by leaing Paul open with
1.7 seconds left.
- 25 point lead in the 3rd quarter, melt down, OT loss vs Utah.

There are a lot of other close losses that hurt, but these are games (most of them) that we should have won. On the contrary. I can't think of any games where we were down by 8 points with 3 minutes left and came back to snatch victory for the jaws of defeat. Or I can't think of a game we've won at the buzzer. Nor can I think of a game where we were down 20 + points and came back and won.

This season with all of these injuries and tough losses has broken my heart so many times. And somehow we're still in 8th place. Why am I not happy about that?

So essentially you are taking a shot at me because I disagree? Nice.

Interesting side-topic developing in this thread (imo): Does Nate's future depend on whether or not the Blazers make the playoffs this season, or will he be back regardless? A lot of people believe he's done a wonderful job this season with all the injuries, but then again, KP clearly didn't get Marcus Camby on this team for next season...

Thoughts?

For the life of me, I can not believe some of you go STILL go to bat and believe in Nate McMillan. His offense was EXPOSED tonight. Literally. Jerry Sloan sliced and diced and did a hell of a job of defining Nates offense this evening.
